hey all, small headache here. ive pulled my turbo out of my car to replace it, and found its only slightly worse than the one i was going to put in off a glanza . the glanza turbos intake impellers a bit knackered so i planned to have the choice parts from each mix and matched together, add in a refurb kit ive bought and get it balanced, but only one of 7 places ive tried will and they want 300 odd quid lol. surely that's a ridiculous price? anyone able to point me in the right direction for a good rebuild place? cheers for any help! jim.

im pissed, it was the last thing i was gonna do today after finding a bracket has worn through my intercooler piping that needs welding up, and it just snapped off with no force at all lol. also, my replacement thermostat says 75 degrees on it, whereas the one coming out says something like 83. what difference does that make?

hey all, i was changing my thermostat, and sheared the stud the housing bolts onto, derp. it sheared flush with the bottom of the nut so theres exposed stud the length of the thickness of the thoermostat housings flange. ive no idea what to do to get it out to replace it, please advise!

Hi all, quick question. My friend and i have been going through his car, making a list of all the things that its previous owner rinseep82 made a massive hash of. it has what i believe to be an hks ssq blow off valve (like this one http://www.id-workz.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_1118_1211_1236&products_id=306) which is held onto the intercooler piping with a circlip utalising port thingie. its rattly as fuck, completely loose, and i was wondering if its supposed to have a gasket of some sort under it to make a seal. any help is appreciated of course!

haha boss man with the shredded mani. My car still has its air con, I'm not sure but i think that's what's stopping me from getting to the last nut holding the manifold on, and no spanner i can get hold of, ratchet, swan neck/dogs leg or otherwise will budge the last awkward nut holding the turbo on. If i can remove either the rest of the job is piss, as u can get a spanner between the toyosport manifold I'm fitting.

i have a flexi head ratchet spanner, but the heads to big to get onto the nut, the side of the turbo stops it. swan necks wont stay on, they just twist off. improbably just gonna have to chisel the fucker off, the manis going in the bin anyway

Halp, my friends and i have tried and tried to take the back left nut holding the turbo to the manifold, and just cant get it off. the bottom left nut holding the manifold to the block is ridiculously inaccessible too. getting either off would end this nightmare, but its doing my head in. can anyone tell me an easy way to get them off? a pic of a method would be greatly appreciated!

nope cant be done :L, just relocate the number plate to between the fog and the intercooler as best you can, keep the bumper whole (this is of course just my opinion).

I cut the flywheel down from 8kgs to about 4.5 with a lathe on my old micra, never had an issue with it after. the micra did die in the end mind you lol (but that was rust)

tried that, still glowing orange in the corner, little bugger. its had fuel in it since that day, the fuel level gauge still works, just not the light.

Hey all, small questions. Ive ended up with a bottle of halfrauds blue pre '98 engine coolant. seems to be ok, but everyone on here recommends the red official toyota stuff. i was gonna re use the red coolant already in it, but its so full of bits of shit it resembles some sort of cereal lol. will my blue halfords stuff cut the mustard? Also, my fuel warning light seems to be stuck on after a perticularly narrow ecape running stupidly low on the way back from a meet at buealiea. anyone know what the problem is?

heh yeah i did, bout 2:20 am cause i was too tired to notice the sat nav was taking me right round the london ring road till there was no point turning back lol. I dont think ill be coming to another one so far away so late, though it was good fun.
