  1. I'm pretty clued up on them, dmf seem to be another weak point too. Not heard of PD specific oil though! We had a budget of 3k but all I'm finding are dogs so might have to spend a little more
  2. Ha ha that is actually what I think I'm going for but didn't want to say it as people on here seem to hate them! I even viewed one today but it was too rough. They're really cheap on tax, ins, great mpg, 5door for my kids with isofix and the most important thing they're tunable- 170ish just from a map. Very cheap to mod.
  3. I think I'd struggle to find one as good but I'm not ruling it out. Going to behave (ish) for a couple of years when I don't have to worry about the miles I have to travel then try to get my old gt4 back. The SR went today and I've got to say I was massively gutted. Had a lovely last drive in it-70 miles over to the new owner though
  4. Yeh it's one of the options but still nothing like as good on fuel as a deisel. Might just be boring and behave myself for a while until I don't have to do the miles anymore
  5. Yeh my dad had one and it was a lovely car but felt it just lacked that bit of power. They are a hell of a car for the money though. I like the corolla compressors as my dad had one after the Celica and we both loved it but they aren't great on fuel and I need a five door. ive owned an auris sr180 which once mapped was pretty quick but pants in the corners and prone to head gasket failure. We can carry on the conversation on my build thread of you like. The car sold today, moderators please lock
  6. Not at all mate I'm the same ha ha. I'll still be wacfhing them even when it's gone.
  7. Unfortunately the next car isnt going to be that exciting or jap and because of the miles I'll need a deisel. Think I'll behave for a few years until I don't need to deisel any more and I can then maybe get my old gt4 back
  8. Yeh fingers crossed, almost feel guilty letting it go though. Yeh close to it buddy
  9. They get some great attention don't they, love driving it around. Actually like people not knowing what it is
  10. Well it's not how I imagined his thread to end when I started it but a really decent lad came and looked around her today leaving a deposite so looks like the car will be gone by the end of the week will probably be another car I'll regret selling but there's nothing I can do about it. Have loved every min of owning it though
  11. Yes mate it's staying on here, nice meeting the new owner today and hope he wasn't too fed up with how much I talk! he put any fears to bed about it getting ruined anyway. Will be really really sad to see it go :/ but out of my hands. Yeh I agree
  12. yep they're pretty rare and i'm well pissed off i can't keep mine. Haven't had much interest in it yet but i guess people think it's too expensive when you see others for £800. Problem is they are mostly absolute dogs and haven't got any of the stuff that mine has. I know what you're saying about the tax on the MPS but my insurance was so cheap it didn't bother me. Growing up It used to be the other way round with tax being cheap and insurance costing a bomb.
  13. can you send me a pic please mate? where abouts are you in lincs mate as im from there and all my family live there
  14. Had a 3 MPS before the SR- so cheap to buy and tune, I got 295 for around £400. A lot of car for the money. Had a Clio 197 in the past and it was great fun but you have to rag them to get anything out of them.
  15. Really wish I could keep mine and start it :/ would catch a lot of cars out then
  16. It's come out lovely mate but even to start with I don't think it was in bad nik after 28 years
  17. And a bolt on turbo kit would see them well and truly disappearing behind you even with only 140 ish bhp
  18. Mate you should be laughing at them- they're in a boring fucking Prius that's meant to be bought to be good on fuel so why the hell do 90% of Prius owners I come across drive them like absolute pricks. We are in a very rare 1.3 and they are in a dull peace of crap- even the anniversary ones which a pointless.
  19. Yeh fingers crossed, I've always cared about cars I've sold and hoped they've gone to someone who will look after them.
  20. Yeh up hills they aren't great but I find on a flat or slight down hill mines fantastic and once the speed is on its easy to keep on
