  1. I had no idea there was a French version of these with a trick high revving 1.3. I love them both to be honest though
  2. Mate the car looks gorgeous even now- I'm a huge fan of glanzas too just SR's are so rare now, well good clean ones are. My first car was an immaculate White SR and at the time (I'll sound old now) it wasn't easy to get hold of aftermarket parts and the Internet was crap. I wanted skirts spoilers etc. Ah that's good then as it'll be worth more as an SR I think. What mileage are you on now? I think insurance is a joke at any age mate. I'm 31 and get charged more than a fabia vrs for the SR- it's like they don't want old cars on the road. And you pay so much but if something happened you don't
  3. Is the insurance that much cheaper with all the mods declared? A 19yr old lad at work managed to insure a stock glanza for nothing
  4. Lol like i said, it always starts with a glanza rear bumper.... I can't lie mate I'm gutted it deserved to stay as a lovely low mileage SR but each to their own. It is tidy but just a shame it didn't stay as it was. What are the future plans?
  5. They are the best in my opinion. My Levins are good but I'm sure they'd fade if used on track. Plus the saving on I sprung weight compared to the Levins is a bonus too.
  6. Was the old pully hard to get off? Do you feel any difference now- free revving?
  7. The brakes are the best you can get for the money that's for sure and in many cases better than more expensive kits. I guess that's the problem when the product is so good the supply can't meet the demand especially if you're dealing with a crap supplier. Good to hear you're getting back on track.
  8. The starlets are pretty suprising for what they are. Both A friend with a 2ltr D insignia and a 2ltr D X1 said they were shocked when we had a little play. Also wasn't that far off a mk4 golf 4motion either. Nice little car mate I'd hang on to it as anything win a ford badge will be worth something at some point. Yeh new gaskets are a good idea I did the same. By the way I found out today for def that I'm not moving anywhere so it means I can keep the SR at least for a few more months until we find out about my wife's work as that's still unknown. I doubt anyone would want to pay what I'd wa
  9. I take it WMS are just not replying at all now. What the hell is going on with them
  10. I think it's on my build thread somewhere mate I can't remember off the top of my head. Got it from eBay though so will have a look if it's on my purchase history. I do have some left thought mate and you're welcome to have it- not that far away Yeh I can imagine. With my gt4 I may aswell have been throwing buckets of fuel out the back ha ha. The car is capable and I've done the 185mile journey a few times in the past but I wouldn't want to have to do it every weekend it's not fair on the car. Yeh they are a sod to keep clean but when they are they're the best by far. I've got a clay bar jus
  11. Yeh the manifold isnt too bad a job mate a ratchet spanners helps a lot with some of the nuts. You'll need to get some longer vac hose and use some washers or something for the throttle cable. I'm in the army and might be getting sent to another camp so if that happens I could have to start doing loads of miles. Plus my wife has to go back to work soon after maternity leave but her job is actually up in Nottingham so she's waiting to hear if she can just do her three months at the reading branch as we live down near Andover now :/ but if not she would have to move back up to her mums with o
  12. Yeh definalty do it mate. I'm a huge fan of the rc's and cs's but it's nice to see a clean one like yours that hasn't had the body converted to be a rep
  13. Excellent work mate. The flys are meant to be good mate but I'm having the same thoughts with the price. Just waiting to find out yet again if I'm able to keep the car though :/
  14. Where's the hybrid from? I ran a Fensport stage two for a year before I did the big build and went for a gt3076r. You'll have to stick up a build thread in the 'other cars' section mate.
  15. Mate I love those two Astras you don't see many around now. And of course I love a good gt4 too
  16. Ah right so it's a self build, fair play to you mate and you won't look back as it unlocks their true potential
  17. I like how it looks now but I really did like the way it looked when it was magazine featured
  18. Love the car mate, will be interested to see how you get on with the det3. Who's mapping it for you?
  19. Wow looks well used that one, they are easy to clean up though. What colour are you going for? If my clutch starts to slip I'll be doing the same. Where did you get your fly from walker?
  20. Oh yeh I forgot about lightweight pullys and a fly. Heard the timing thing can be good but a lot of people get it wrong. Won't have to worry with an EMB anyway. Yep im 31 and the SR is pretty cheap on insurance but quite a bit more than other cars- the MPS was almost as cheap. It's like they don't want old cars on the road.
  21. Oh and although the tax was shit for the Mazda the insurance was cheap as chips so I paid that in a oner and paid the tax monthly. The way i see it is- as I've got older insurance has got cheaper and tax more expensive so it doesn't make much difference in the overall cost really. The mpg was 28 on a good day too
  22. Yep I'm a bit of a Toyota nut. Have to say though that the Clio was an amazing car- poorly made but the brakes, handling, gear shifts and screaming engine were so good. The gt4 was savage in the end and ate everything I came across. The Mazda was a great car my mate bought it off me so I still get to drive it from time to time. Only spent £500 getting it to 300 lol it was mapped via a Cobb access port that plugs into the obd- had flat shifting and launch control. I've also looked into the whole exhaust thing for the SR mate and it just seems such a pain in the Arse. The obx need quite a bit
