  1. No I wouldn't use second hand sss parts but theres a lot of other stuff I'd use. Mine went nearly 100k before any knocking, once replaced there's no reason why it wouldn't do another 100k. I wouldn't want refurbed parts either to be honest. Yeh you're probably right with regards to the scoobys and evos although classic imprezas are dirt cheap now too, evos seem to hold a good price. The whole wrc scandal killed off the 205's rep so that's probably another reason why they aren't as well sort after. I like them because I'm a huge Toyota fan and they're the underdog against the more well known j
  2. Plus the other interiors must have been an option but I guess people just never asked, it's weird.
  3. I've got the sales brochure, mine must be the early one. It's strange because the black and silver are pictured as SR's but the white one is pictured as a normal Starlet. There's no mention of fogs or the TTE lip. I've never found any info on how the SR came about either.
  4. It is lol but that's what makes it so good in the corners
  5. I saved up a little at a time and collected all the parts and then changed them all at once. Funny thing is we all happily spend a fortune on mods but hate spending money on stock replacement parts ha ha
  6. Ha ha got you. To be honest though once it's renewed its good for a very long time
  7. Sss? Yeh some parts are expensive but a lot of second hand parts are cheap. I think there are loads of aftermarket parts to be honest mate never struggled to find nice parts for mine. And now with some companies offering a drive in drive out service for engine builds etc which is pretty good. Finding the right company is always the problem though. Yeh the wrc engines are ones as they're guaranteed to be 'thick walled' as the others seem to be pot luck. To be honest when I get my old one back I'll just go for the Camry 2.2 bottom end conversion as its bomb proof
  8. I wouldn't want anything that's going to lose me performance. JDMginge's one by RW looks really good and matched up to a glanza mid pipe. Keep saying I'm not going to bother and save the money to go turbo but the conversion is a long way off if I'm honest.
  9. I'm all for things fetching the money they're worth just most gt4's are still crazy cheap and yeh some glanzas are daft money. Yeh I love the 185's and even the 165's too. There are a few CS 185's for sale at the min
  10. Thanks v much. Yeh fair enough mate, I waited for ages for my door cards as it was the last peice of the puzzle but they are out there. I like having the TRD knob too as its much nicer to hold and look at. My Dads mate is an ex Toyota technician turned salesman in the 90's. When he saw my car he said 'oh it's got the optional interior' I thought he got confused with the glanza but he seemed to think it was an option in the SR's but poorly advertised. I think he's got his wires crossed.
  11. They are marmite I get that but I love 90's jap cars regardless of ugly or not ha ha. It's more about what they're capable of than anything and the fact they're cheaper than most glanzas is crazy. They just don't have the same following I guess and the OC for them has dried up a bit
  12. Actually that's a lie I've now got all rear plastics in and the sill plastics too
  13. Yeh the 98 spec is lovely- took me quite a while to peice mine together and I guess I was lucky as pretty much everything is from different cars and different times. Here's how it currently sits: I've got a totally immaculate pair of 96 glanza door cards if you're interested? I bought them 2 hours before finding the 98's
  14. I'm a little biased towards red as mine was. Love them in all the colours to be honest though even yellow
  15. Absolute bargain if it's trouble free. The 'TRD' spoiler isn't my thing but looks like it uses the original mounts so easily changed.
  16. Why the hell did they not touch the bloody interior or engine!!! I love keeping things original and I would if I had yours but mine with 65k is just right for me to lightly mod and make what Toyota should have.

  18. Looks cracking. I knew prices would start to climb for good ones.
  19. Another lovely SR http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Starlet-SR-1-3-38-000-Miles-Fully-Original-EP91-/122055376838?nav=SEARCH
  20. Blimey how are they £30? Didn't realise they're an option. Bugger now I don't know weather to get a second set ha ha. Yeh the grey ones are lovely and really lift the interior. Mine were literally used for shows and I feel guilty putting my feet on them but I'm a bit weird
