Jesus we don't live in the Stone Age he's not exactly going to come round your house and assault you. Fuck this I was just trying to help people out but like I've said I won't bother in future
-
And no it's not just people on here, I'm on a few owners clubs and I've done the same on those. I wouldn't want to see anyone get ripped off not just on here
-
Lads I understand a profit needs to be made but the way he's gone about it is wrong- that's my point and the fact he's trying to make 3k off it not that that'll happen. Posing as a private buyer and then selling it as a trader is cheeky as fuck. I won't bother trying to stop people from getting ripped off in future

Awesome help lads thanks very much. Have you got a build thread Luke? Well seeing as youth they're strong enough that's the way I'm definalty going then I've sacked off the idea of getting a custom NA mani made for a start as I planned to leave it NA for a while on an emb. Il save the money from the mani and get an emanage on it first then collect all the parts I need.

I can't be doing with a swap mate- I've thought about my options loads but the most cost affective way for me seems to be to strap a stock ct9 kit to it with supporting mods. I've got a ct9 from a while back and that'd be freshly rebuilt before going on. As I've said I'm not after big power at all and I think 140ish would be plenty. They're fairly nippy for what they are but struggle up any hill and I miss the torque. I used to have around 440ish in the Celica and have had a string of quick cars since then. I did like the idea of putting a 2zzge 190 in but the price was crazy- 6k which I don'

Scott's Glanza - Project Outlaw - "In For The Build"
Pikey009 replied to scott-d-'s topic in EP91 Glanza Progress Blogs
Ah that's how you got such a nice finish on them ;) yep, love a bit of attention to detail. Never heard of a sequential box in one of these but even at the same power it'll be a hell of a lot quicker I imagine. I like cars a little more understated nowadays but still have that mental side too. Think if I ever get my old gt4 back then I'd go mad with that -
I've got an SR and will be turboing the stock 4efe eventually. I'm not going to be chasing figures and will only want to run around 140 ish. Are the stock fte exhaust manifolds and downpipes reliable? Do they crack/fail on stock boost and power? I know there are loads of different kits out there etc etc but I'm on a tight budget and just want a little more power so I'd be looking to use stock second hand parts. I won't be pushing the car any more than that as I've been there and gone mental with other cars.
-
So I haven't ended up needing to change job location after all which means the SR is definalty staying for the forseable future. I really love the car and once the wheels are sorted it's time for some performance as the lack of it is starting to get to me. I'm on such a tight budget though. saving like mad at the min to get the half rad on before I get to the wheels though. I've decided not to try and hide any mods in the bay now as it seems daft because anyone with half a brain would be able to spot everything. Plus I was on google the other day and saw a bay with a half rad and IC pipework

That looks like an absolute mission!

Scott's Glanza - Project Outlaw - "In For The Build"
Pikey009 replied to scott-d-'s topic in EP91 Glanza Progress Blogs
Very different mate and lovely. I can understand how the look is 50/50 for some people but fair play for doing your own thing. Reading through the whole lot you can see the attention to detail and amount of graft that's gone into it. The sequential box will be unreal. By the way did you paint the rear plastics yourself? -
I know you're not bothered and the deal is done but I can't stand being ripped off or seeing it happen to other people. Had really bad experiences with Small traders in the past. I've listed it in the eBay section on here with a warning

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOYOTA-CALDINA-CELICA-2-0-GT4-ESTATE-RARE-CAR-IN-UK-COLLECTOR-QUALITY-19K-MILES-/122040791645?nav=SEARCH Most have probably seen this car up for sale on here by Mart. He ended up selling it for 4K in the end and as you can see, this prick has it up for 3k on top of that. All I can see that he's done since buying it is drive it around and then not clean it. The buyer said it was a personal purchase but signed the v5 as a trade deal. Ive messaged him on eBay and he's a right slippery wanker giving really random answers. Please beware of this guy as you could probably k

He told me he just trades in bikes lol I told him bollocks as its obvious what he's done. He also told me the last 4 cars he's bought he's sold in a month because they didn't give him the buzz he's after lol. He's basically admitted that he's a dodgy trader and is choosing his words carefully. Feel like reporting the fucker to eBay to be honest
-
I've emailed him on eBay and his response is a joke- basically that he liked the car but wants a deposite for an rs4. So I asked why he signed the v5 as a trader and is trying to make 3k on it
-
Yeh we're hoping we don't need to do that but you never know. Sounds good, I think we will either go a3 sportback or 3 series touring but both diesels
-
Fair enough mate apologies. To be honest I think it was worth what you're asking but there's a small market for it. I'd have paid 4500 if I'd got the go ahead. Still got the golf and the second baby is now overdue so looks like we're car shopping when it's hear! She still won't listen and understand we need a bigger car
-
Lol I always thought you'd take 4K to be honest and that's what I told my lass but still couldnt convince her. You did tell me that the underseal was a top job though so that's a bit off really mate if I'm honest. Yep it'll never sell for that. Some gt4's are now trying to be sold by dealers for crazy money too and don't even get me started on the 'Castrol rally car' on eBay that's up for 16k! It's nice but it's not 16k
-
Thanks mate, Do s's run the same darker glanza ones?
-
Stock 4e's with the right mods and a GOOD map will run 170-180 all day long. It's not usually enough for people nowadays as everyone wants more power and I've been there myself and come too far with other cars. I'm going for 140ish when I turbo the SR and I'll leave it at that To be honest all 90's jap cars are clocking on now though - nothing like them and never will be again, all different in their own right and I try not to compare them as I love 90% of them
-
How much did you get for the car mate?- as the new 'owner' that was blatantly a dealer has it up for 7k the rubbing cheeky fucker
-
Ah plans have changed!
-
+1 for this. I'm half way through this myself and it takes a long time to do it properly.
-
Definalty mate although there was a black SR rally car for sale about 3 months ago
-
I've also thought about this mate but decided against it. A guy I worked with last year rallied an MGZR which he pretty much said was one of the cheapest ways to do it. I helped him out a bit and from what I saw over 8 months was him spend a lot of money. It constantly broke (not because it's an MG!) each event was very expensive and the rules are v v strict as Ryan mentioned. . So you'll either need to buy a pre prepped car or prep it yourself and then get it inspected and registered for the correct class you want to compete in. . Buy a trailer along with something capable of towing it .

The problem is that this is a Starlet forum/owners club so by slating them and the owners in any way is going to get people's backs up. I personally love both cars as they are obviously really different. I loved my Clio197 and yeh it was made from fag packets and tin foil but my god it handled and stopped so well. It would run rings around any other car I've owned bar the Celica in the corners. And the way it revved along with the close box made it a fantastic little car out of the box.
