Basically got the engine loom done this evening bar one wire as my supplier sent a 6 core wire not a single core!!!!! Under the heat shrink the main power cable has a removable join so it can be undone if necessary, properly crimped ends and then all wrapped up etc. IMG_2134 by Rob Fisher, on Flickr IMG_2135 by Rob Fisher, on Flickr IMG_2136 by Rob Fisher, on Flickr IMG_2137 by Rob Fisher, on Flickr -

Newish clutch - getting noisy - what to do?
RobSR replied to slaphappy's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
They are symptoms of release bearing not a ruined box lol! If it was gearbox you wouldn't have issues with it idling, gearbox issues would come to light when driving/the gearbox is actually turned lol. Ignore that, he's just after 400quid and probs won't touch the box. Failing the realise bearing you can also get that sound if the springs on the clutch plate have cracked / popped out. Where did you buy the clutch from? Some exedy and fake ones had this issue. -

Carried on doing some bits and pieces, progress slowed down knowing that the turbo wasn't going to turn up in time for japfest, but I've now realised JAE isn't that far away so thats now the next rush, i can only go on the sat night / sunday due to work so we'll see what happens. Turbos still sitting in customs which is frustrating. Got one of the boys at work to do the front wheel bearings at work today so thats sorted. Ive carried on doing some wiring, the last bits and pieces, extending the engine bay loom for the new fusebox location and relocating the battery to the boot. Couple o -

As you've mentioned first thing to do would be to change the release bearing. Toyota won't make theres anyway, made by Koyo. -
I think they were awesome, depends what your after. Drag use only really - they didnt come alive until 6k+
-
Didn't they both run em? If not, what was on animal Gt's car? I knew he had my brothers old cams in his engine - thats all i know about the car!
-
They definitely weren't speedvision! Ah the 282's - legendary they were
-
What specs? Either way they were ivan tighe cams.
-
Didn't think animal_gt's car was on a td06. 90% certain it was an mdx555 - either way it was awesome.

What's everyone got left to do for japfest 2

Ah just you wait haha! -
You can clear 300 on a 2.5" exhaust, however 3" would be recommended. Bit of future proofing.
