Hi all, I bought this a few weeks back whilst ordering my turbo lines etc. Pulled the pump out the GT to put the new one in today and it already has a Walbro FFS. As you know these are £64.99 + postage Looking for £60 posted boys and girls
Fixed lol. The clown who wired the FCD in had used bullet crimps, needless to say the wires pulled out and the connection was lost.
Now all soldered in like it always should have been
I had this today, was driving me nuts! Wanted to die at traffic lights too. Gave it a few hard boosts and it seems to have cleared for now.
My thoughts were distributer cap and rotor arm. Just had new plugs and magnecor leads a few weeks ago.
Sounds like you've got it plumbed right to the bottom port mate, putting it on the top port will hold it closed harder.
What vacuum have you disconnected?
If you leave the top nipple to atmosphere then you will get the spring pressure boost level, do you know what spring you have?
The top port is for boost controllers.
If the head has been skimmed and new bolts fitted and torqued down correctly then you must have a warped block.
How are you cleaning the block up before placing the new gasket on?
Best bet to get the oil out of the water jacket is to suck it out using an extractor, if not just drain the coolant and flush it a couple of times before adding fresh coolant
The only real way to tell if valves are bent is to pull them out. Even if they aren't visually bent they can compound which will make them stick in the guide.
What are the opinions your after?
I bought one a couple of weeks back, haven't chucked it in yet though...
From what I've heard they are exactly the same spec as the Walbro but are quieter
