exhaust vibrating / banging off lower arm bar
nic1.3 replied to nic1.3's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
oh my i dont really mind it that much as i know whats causing it its just a case of if i have to ferry the girlfriend around she'll never stop nagging me bout it so i gotta fix it.. and besides wrapping the exhaust was in the plans anyway for the summer but i will do it now -
alrite i fitted my new 4 point lower arm bar on saturday and it fitted fine, except that now its vibrating/ banging off the exhaust pipe coming from the manifold into the cat... what are yere opinions on what i should do to fix this??? Should i wrap the exhaust or what???
-
really incredible. ya learn sumthing everyday eh??
-
well done mate for raising the profile of the starlet..it deserves every bit of it. best of luck getting a full feature.
-
ah she's cool.. hope she gets better soon and back out at it fair play to her..
-
Ah for fcuk sake thats really disheartening to have that done to all your cars... i really do feel for u man as your's is a beautiful car i hope that u can get it repaired at a reasonably cost and bring the people who did this to justice
-
nice one mate but did u get the bracket it cinnect it to the mani and the head????
-
they can be worth it but require a custom exhaust system or aftermarket to connect to and will require further work to fit the starlet also the gains are all in the top end with that manifold, using theres a serious loss in the low to mid torque....so only usefull for spirited driving
-
now that reading into a photo very good man
-
ahh i can see your point now alrite i neva thought of the travel time for the charged air
-
I know i did that bout 10 minutes ago.... sccccoorre

-
OK...Thanx for your kind words.....i was just curious what effect the 4 branch would have....sum off us aren't born ep experts after all hence the reason for this very site..
-
well if what ricko is saying is correct then this would be incredible to get hold of and replicate in a group buy also would this bolt onto the oem exhaust mani?? and just require work on the centre section? i would definitely go for a manifold like this with low to mid torque gains instead of using a 5efe pacesetter manifold and and loose low end torque. ho0w bout it rick????
-
ooh i understand completely...it will just be more ecomonical for everyone (ie the fabricators and purchasers )involved to make just one batch and be done with it, but the possibility is always there for anyone willin go pay the extra to have the one off made
-
i guess the oem cat could be included when its being built but if your going that far why not go for a high performance cat and be done with it....also even with a cat of sum sort would it pass emissions for the ukdm starlets
-
haa f**k it that nuthing..... .... i believe rick posted that he can get these's made up as needed for later..
-
oh sorry enzo i had to laugh at that ;) ;) thats embarrassing alrite..at least u have enough humour to post it.
