You dont 'need' any brackets to use it, it will stay on fine just with the hoses.

What front mount intercooler to get
DavidAshton replied to federalman's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Do not go HDI if you want a bumper left! Autobahn/blitz style require no cutting at all if mounted carefully, yeah the pipe goes over the manifold but it makes very little difference and ive tried it with both pipe route, the longer pipe over the manifold actually aids a ct9 setup in my opinion as it allows better boost control. -
I never thought I'd end up saying this, but...

I think starlets are getting to an age that there just becoming dog shite, I know mine is and I know another local member who is having nothing but trouble. Its mainly consumable parts on mine buts its seriously one thing after another at the minute and I cant see where its going to end. Id love to sell mine and get something modern, upto date with a bit of poke but I just cant justyfy getting rid with the ammonut of time and money i have put into it, and the shite prices they fetch now looks like ill just have to push throgh and get it to a reasonable working state. If you feel you can rea -
lol at last comment, why the fook would a bird not like a new corsa? Taking a bird in a tin can starlet is a joke.

Think they look cracking in white, see a few round these parts. I would love a nice new car thats comfy and refined. if i was you id go for it mate but dont hang around. i want a new modern car but just cant justyfy it after i have put so much time and money into the starbo. so do it before you put more into the starbo than you will ever get back. also have you considered a new clio rs? mate recently got one on a cracking finance deal and its a real sweet car.

Set of maul(sp?) grips will see that free without taking it off the car.
-
of course they do, been on my car going on 2 years now!

i would suggest buying a little pack of R clips that people use to hold the bodies on r/c cars. any r/c or model shop will sell them and they are much easier to use then the standard c clips. you will almost defo loose the clips so its good to have a back up.

i thought they blinked quick when you had a bulb out? have you checked the dash and wing bulbs?

Exedy organic clutch experience
DavidAshton replied to bartrumboi's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
Nice one Jezza, thats good to know, i think im still going to chance it with one, ive seen oem clutch take td04 220bhp no problems in the past so hopefully this will hadle circa 200bhp for long enough. Cant be any worse than a exedy 3 puk paddle that only just managed a years use! jam35glanza how much abuse you put on it? -
Exedy organic clutch experience
DavidAshton replied to bartrumboi's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
Think im going to get one of these, doubt its an actual organic one though at that price, probably just an oem one "mis advertised". Sold 8 though so no worries stock wise, if it lasts a year ill be happy. -
Mines working fine?

smoking exhaust when boosting.
DavidAshton replied to theminiguru's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Doesnt sound like turbo seals at all. White smoke suggests water, not oil. When oil seals go on a turbo they smoke on idle rather than boost and it would be blue and smell like burning oil. Id get someone to drive behind you and confim exactly what colour smoke is coming out when. Also smokes when cold?, what colour and smell? You sure its not condensation? -
^^ A bit wrong imo? Of course it helps. Hole too small to expel enough exhaust gasses, make hole bigger, hole big enough to expel enough exhaust gasses, boost now creeps less. If your only just touching fuel cut it will cure your problem for sure.
-
i very much doubt a boost controller will cure your boost creep. it will just bring on boost quicker, then creep, if you think about it the actuator will be fully opening the wastegate, the boost controller wont open it anymore, it will just open it quicker. restricting the intake is going to be far more effective and a lot cheaper.

smae thing has happened to me. rear crank seal leaking has killed my clutch. exedy paddle aswell year old and 12000 miles. i image oil contamination will have caused excessive wear. dont think you will get anywhere complaints wise but let me know if you do.
