As one of the people who run 1.2 bar n a ct9 ill defo add my input on tis thread. The ct9 on my car has done 100,000 miles, 10,000 of those at 1.2 bar. I have had 2 other turbo's on the car both of which fucked up (hybrids), this is the origional ct9 that came with my car, once i run it at high boost it stopped smoking, hence i call it my 3rd turbo. I go along the lines of this, my friend runs a td04 at 1.2 bar on stock internals, as long had he has no issues ill run a ct9 at 1.2 bar. 1.2 bar is quicker than 1 bar, dont care what anyone says, sit in my car boost controller at 1 bar drive i

1.2 bar standard ct9 ftw, my ct9 has done 100,000 miles with 10,000 at 1.2 bar and it runs bang on. Defo more power than 1 bar. Nice to see more people pushing the standard ct9, you wont find a better low down torque monster.

I had a boost leak for about 6 months, took me sooooooooooo long to find. Car boosted fine, just made that boost leak wistle. In the end I replaced all the clamps and found the leak. So yeah dont rule out the intercooler yet, take it all off and refit, also check for traces of water in the pipes, thats how i found where mine was leaking.

ct9 outlet is around 40mm. Im running a 51mm - 57mm elbow off the turbo to a 57mm aluminium elbow to the air filter. So yeah 40mm - 55mm will clamp onto the turbo outlet fine.

It always does it when I upload a pic. If you host a pic yourself though it works fine.

The Cheep And Effective Way To Relocate Your Air Filter
DavidAshton replied to micky boy's topic in Lifestyle General
ok dude, ill stick with chatter I think, seems to be the quietest thing apart from stock airbox set up. If it did make it silent id buy an aftermarket recirc valve and sort it properly. Hate making noise on gear changes, wish there was a solution to have a silent front mounted filter set up. -
There is no specific fitting kit sold seperatly. A silicone reducer pipe is what you will need i would think. Depends how the bov was run on the rex, maybe fire a pic up for a better reply.

The Cheep And Effective Way To Relocate Your Air Filter
DavidAshton replied to micky boy's topic in Lifestyle General
What does a recirc sound like on a front mounted air filter? Can you hear it dumping into the intake pipe through the filter? Like on the stock set up if you replace the airbox with an open filter you hear the stock recirc dump? -
Same fitment for ep82 and ep91.
-
They fit in. Not perfect but you can secure them enough for them to be fne.
-
You will be way cutting more than just your plate holder out, look at some other cars bumpers with this fmic before you make your choice.
-
Copy of the HDI kit, never heard of any problems function wise of any fmic kit. Only think with this core is your bumper will be butchered to make it fit.

Electronic Boost Controller Advice
DavidAshton replied to ro55ifumi's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Yeah the solonoid just fits inbetween the turbo to actuator pipe. Just check instructions as to which way round the solonoid goes. I think my boost controller has 6 settings, I never change it from the fastest setting lol. -
Electronic Boost Controller Advice
DavidAshton replied to ro55ifumi's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
You cant go lower than actuator pressure so if you only want to run 1bar you dont need to change it. If you want to have low boost .7 bar and high 1 bar obviosly you would have to alter the actuator to run .7 bar. Also dont be a pussy 1.2 bar ftw
