  1. Yeah, it's a bolt on. The TPS and IACV are the sensors that don't match up. When I had one on, I managed to combine an N/A TPS with the mounting plate from an FTE one and file the shaft down to be the right shape, but the IACV was a problem I couldn't get round, losing the idle up systems knocked a huge amount of fuel mileage off as the ecu thinks the engines cold all the time so overfuels constantly. Also worth bearing in mind is it'll add a pretty hefty flat spot to your torque up to 3-3.5k. After that, it's fucking awesome though
  2. Just the blue of a dying headgasket eh? Running sweet as a nut then
  3. This may well be my favourite quote ever. Best of luck Glentwenty, I sincerely hope it runs alright. Or runs. And that you're alright. And that you're not running.
  4. Top guy, item was posted quickly and well wrapped.
  5. Always makes me laugh when people say "1.3 Starlet on V5 so cheap insurance". I think what they mean is "1.3 Starlet on V5 so NO insurance".
  6. Fail, but only on minor things. The horn decided to stop working for the test, stage fright I guess. Jiggled the plug a bit and that's sorted. One bulb gone that was working when I check on Thursday so that's Sod's law. And a hole rusted through the sill near the back which I somehow missed, slack because it's about an inch long. So spot of time with the welder, and a trip to halfords for a new bulb and she's sorted. Couldn't be happier right now
  7. Ahh, fairy muff. Won't be long before you can thrash the shit out of a new engine.
  8. Nice good but of luck with the ECU there as well! What did she make on the RR?
  9. Cheers guys I've just dropped her off so I'll know at 1 how she got on. I'm cautiously optimistic, even if she fails it'll only be on worn bushes etc and I've got a month to sort them out. I love working on her, and I've learned literally everything I know about cars from this engine, this time last year I was hopelessly clueless about everything.
  10. What's the current like on those? It'd be a bit of a convoluted way of doing things but if you ran battery power through a chopper to switch to AC, then through a step up transformer with a 3:1 ratio you could triple the voltage by cutting the current by 2/3.
  11. This works on the OBD1 on a Starlet? I'll have it if so mate.
  12. No worries man glad it got to you and I hope it's useful for something.
  13. Yeah, she's alright. I live about 400 yards from the sea so every car round here rots pretty quick but I've only got a bit of bubbling round an arch at the moment which I'll get sorted when she's got a clean bill of health. Just want to get it over with haha. I'm so jealous, but Christ knows after all the trouble you've had with your FE you're due for a solid engine.
  14. To be fair, UKDM starlets are cheap and kinda pointless. With a few rare exceptions like Rob Hs and Mikeys they're not worth tracking.
  15. Ahaha, registered then realised it was for imports and not UKDM.
  16. This is spot on, it's for when you need torque over top end like snow and sand.
  17. She's booked in for her MOT on Monday. I've never had a car pass one before, so I'm nervous as hell. In other news, bought a bay dress up kit from the fine lads at JDM-EP and fit it today, and while I was at it I took a long overdue wire brush to the rocker cover. Full MOT checks going on tomorrow so I'll probably find a giant rust hole through my rear axle or something equally fatal, news to follow!
  18. Tell him to stop shopping for new ones and get the red ranger back on the bleddy road
  19. If OP doesn't want them, I'll have those off you Shaun.
  20. Cheers for the answers guys was idle curiosity really, I was toying with getting a pillar 2 gauge pod but only have the one gauge to go in (tacho) and what with it being an N/A I genuinely don't need any others. AFR was the only even slightly useful one I could think of.
  21. Benefit of the doubt to you, Kayleigh, so I'm assuming you're not Cole. That said, you're being bleddy aggressive about the whole thing, no? Some 5 members came out immediately to defend Ben and say he's a solid guy but you just keep thinking he was trying to scam you. Isn't it a bit more likely that he sent it and Hermes have lost it? Its not like couriers are renowned for giving a shit about the stuff we give to them. It's stuff like this that puts people off buying in the first place and it'll kill the marketplace on here eventually.
  22. Sounds like you've got it pretty well sorted. If you find yourself missing any bits off the loom, I've got one here off an auto Rolla that I'll happily cut up if you need it.
  23. I think if it was just a case of fucking the car up, then it's your car so whatever. But there's an actual, real risk that it could disintegrate at 50k rpm and turn itself into a claymore detonating under the bonnet. Don't hurt yourself or anyone else just to see if you can pull it off, it's not worth it man.
