  1. That's what I'm worried about. I've got an SSD and an HDD in the bays, I can't really cut sections out. I'd probably buy a new case if needs be because my card's just shit itself and died.
  2. Get clocks off a Starlet CD, they have a tacho and are a straight fit onto the existing plugs. There's a guide in the tutorials section the covers swapping the odometer over as well so the milage is right.
  3. that is sexy as fuck. Good job man, and great call on the colour!
  4. I don't suppose you could measure it, could you? My case is a bit tight. Specifically, length from rear plate to the far end please
  5. The ones Iddy sells have never given me any grief.
  6. I'm sure you get good and bad everywhere. My local guy looked the other way on about 6 things that were borderline, but a garage across town failed my ex on some really petty things. I'm glad it got through ok Beth
  7. Haha, you're not wrong with the colour. I've never done anything with the windows, are the regs and all just straight swap? And does the manual door have all the necessary mounts etc for the motor?
  8. Easiest way would be to get complete doors with all that stuff already in them and swap them over. The sockets for the wiring are already there in your car hidden behind the kick panels. You'd then just need to take the doors off, drill a couple of holes to let the plugs into the car, doors back on and plug them in. To do it the long way round (I.e. keeping your current doors) you've got to do all of that, plus putting all the e/w shit into the existing doors.
  9. My basis for saying it's not as hard as it sounds is that it was the first thing I did on any car. Im not trying to push in the other way, I'm in favour of people going to garages if they want to. I'd have done the same thing when my clutch went if I had the money. If I could do it on my drive with no help and no mechanical experience at all, I'm utterly certain anyone could do it. I'm not saying it's not terrifying performing a surgery for the first time either, just don't let it put you off if you understand what the job entails. I'm sure one of the reasons Starlets are so popular is that t
  10. It sounds like a bigger job than it is. It's somewhere in the region of 30 bolts that need to come out. The worst bit is getting the box back on because the splines that go into the fly can be a right cunt to line up. If you can use a socket you can do it, for sure.
  11. ^^ I did this when I last had the box off and it weighed so much I ended up draining the oil after it was off the car so I could get it back on. You could do it, Flynn. It's not difficult, just time-consuming.
  12. Why? I'm not arguing, I'm genuinely curious.
  13. Assuning it's a UKDM P91, you want the plug on the right as you're looking at the clocks. There's a green wire on the right of the top row of the clocks, that's the tacho signal wire. Cut, strip n splice Hell of a lot easier than tapping off the ECU as you're not having to run a wire behind the dash etc.
  14. There's 2 screws on the bottom of the wheel, once those are out you can yank the airbag and get to the boss. Pretty straightforward, you shouldn't have any issues. Like you said, make sure you disconnect the battery first as you don't want the bag to punch you for removing it.
  15. Good call, didn't realise it would be that cheap. On order now Would definitely get the job done, though! Hahaha Sure, let me just take a loan out against my car to buy one
  16. Might be the winner here, I'm just not convinced my ancient Dremel is up to it. I'd love to, definitely the easiest way but I really cbf to take the tailgate off to do it and a gas axe would get... Interesting haha Got any links to that kinda bit? I had a look on screwfix but couldn't find anything. Might do this to flesh out the middle, less material to remove. Hahahaha, the sledge is never far away.
  17. What would be the best tool to use to cut a couple of holes in a body panel? I'm installing a Glanza plate surround and reverse lights in a UKDM tailgate so I need the holes for the lights. My current thought is drill the corners then try and get a pair of tin snips in there, but there's got to be a better way.
  18. Minty fresh, that one. Go and offer them £200 for it, they might not know hahaha
  19. I've got a standard UKDM exhaust I'll swap you, doesn't get much quieter
  20. Stick with the Borderlands theme and do them in Torgue yellow/black checks.
  21. Thanks for asking I've got some back end plans in the pipeline, which I'm hoping to get to this weekend. Couple of other minor bits, my rusty rear arch has been repaired and looks effing beautiful now, and I fit an alarm with remote central locking.
  22. No way, I always thought it had to be there. This changes everything about the plans for my rear end!
