  1. Lookin good. Your front splitter is why the front one is pretty much hidden. How about a tow sticker like Since you can make em yourself, I could send you the dxf.
  2. It will only move when it reaches low or high boost pressure when the air pressure is greater than the spring rate.
  3. Basically, the actuator is what controls boost levels. It is a spring loaded arm connected to the wastegate on the turbo. When the desired boost pressure is reached, the actuator will force the waste gate open, releasing exhaust gases into the down pipe rather than spooling the turbo.
  4. Anyone on here? First GT I've seen in Glasgow in a long time. You were in the BP garage not far from Ibrox.
  5. Welcome bub. Just down the road from me! Don't buy the V. Buy my GT advance instead!
  6. Give Paisley freight a ring. They were kind enough to provide a pallet the last time I used them to deliver an engine. Charged £60
  7. I'd imagine the engine would be on a pallet so dimensions would be 1000x1200 (standard pallet dimensions)xheight Full pallet - height limited to 1.8m half pallet - height limited to 0.9m quarter pallet - height limited to 0.6m I'd say a half pallet would be about the right size. 1000x1200x900mm
  8. Just a standard one bud and not mapable. The choice is typically a self learning ECU like Blitz access, JAM racing, Mines etc (All around the £400 mark and fairly hard to get a hold of) OR a piggy back ECU like Greddy Emanage, Apexi power FC etc. Have a search. there's plenty of info about all manner of ECU upgrades.
  9. No worries mate. I'll hopefully make some progress on it soon. We can compare notes on the design :harhar:
  10. I have a design ready for sampling but I didn't have much interest so haven't made any more progress as yet. http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index....showtopic=29208
  11. Looks clean mate. Hope the racing stripes are coming off!
  12. Quick effort for you.
  13. Ha ha, I should have bailed after assisting with grip at the start!
  14. Good day out. Was great to see so many Starlets out in force. Lee, what was the spec of the GT that won FWD class? 1.4bar? He managed a 13.708 on the fun run at the end vs the MR2.
  15. it's the 25th bud i'll be headin up at some point. Not as early as i'd hoped. 3 of my work mates are headin up too. White glanza and 2 scoobies.
  16. Think that's the best option mate. That's what I'd do. A weekend's work would have the engine replaced. I'm happy to lend a hand and I'm sure Alan would be too.
  17. Spent an age repairing the bumper but at last it's repainted and fitted! And here's one of the "postlet" especially for you LukeSR
  18. Quite a few bolts holding it on but still an easy job. you might need to rebond the part of the body kit that wraps around the arch.
  19. Glad to see you back in a GT. Is all you modding gonna be as fast paced as this?
  20. Ha ha, They came from a good home! I'm always up for a meet. Will look forward to seeing your new gt.
  21. It's about time I added one of these! It's a bit brief and I've probably missed a lot of detail but here goes. This is how it looked when I first got it back in September 2007 It was rough round the edges as you can tell Rear axle was bent Before selling the MK2, I swapped various part over including the exhaust systems. Couldn't bare the noise of the RSR system so stuck with Kakimoto. Then came my obsession with custom front mount set ups - Should have just paid for a proper kit in the first place. The first attempt used a Fiat 20V turbo core, squeezed beside a civic rad. Short piping route, that's for sure but suffered massive heat soak as it was so close to the mani and turbo. It didn't help when the oil filter relocation kit sprung a leak. I was lucky not to have a fire! The second FMIC set up was a lot more sensible but suffered a lot from silicon couplings popping off as the pipes had no swedged ends. First rolling road session was in Feb '08. Managed 155bhp at the wheels at 0.8 bar. I was happy with it but the intercooler piping was leaking and it couldn't reach 1 bar. Off came the TSW Catalyunas and on went a set of 15" OZ racing volcano refurbed in white. I was content with how it looked at this stage and spent a bit of time developing a few JD tuning bits to fund more mods. Then it all went wrong!!!!! After a session at crail, my engine started to become unhappy and after a second rolling road it died. Second run on the rollers and pop goes the weasel! After cleaning up a lot of emulsified oil from the engine bay (and dyno equipment), a compression test revealed cylinder no.3 was gubbed. Later inspection revealed that the sump had all sorts of unwanted material And piston 3 had a hole in it........ More bad luck followed as my run around Civic ESI bought for £300 was stolen from outside my flat. It had the OZ wheels on it. Grrrrr. A year later, the thief was caught. A couple of months later the GT was back up and running in Nov 2008. I ended up buying a low mileage Glanza engine that ended up costing about £200 as the guy had accidently sold me a factory LSD gear box without knowing. He bought it back off me and saved me a few quid. This is how she stood at Xmas 2008 with a set of Ignis wheels to keep me rolling. Then came my new and current wheels â?? Enkie RS Evolution split rims. Fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. Even with the unique colour scheme. Then I got a bit scared! Dropped the sump to check internals and noticed the Rods were thinner than the old GT engine rods. I panicked thinking someone had turbocharged a NA engine. Soon realised that they changed design on the Glanza engines. Phew The 3rd rolling road day took place in Feb 09 where the new engine achieved 222bhp at the fly. (Results were being generous on the day but I like the figure enough to hold onto it)! Then came the JD tuning products developed and fitted. Eventually forked out for a proper intercooler kit in the form of a J Performance number. Highly recommended! A set of genuine Tom's skirts and spats later and this is how it stood in Jan this year Last edition was a clear reverse scoop And most recent pics............ The next mod will be a Tom's front bumper when it has been patched up and painted. My son decided to help mark a few areas for trimming. Don't think he was on the same hymn sheet as me though. Before you ask, the advance in the pics is another project I'm working on.
  22. A GT measures approx 1140mm (3' 9") between C-posts at the seat belt captive nuts and the Glanza is approx 50mm (2") wider.
  23. They look smart in black with yellow. I wondered where the uncoated set would end up! I've just got my hands on a TOM's front bumper so hope I can still fit a front tow eye. Did you have to modify to fit?
  24. One of my favourite GTs. Inspiring!
  25. Brilliant! One to tell the kids.
