  1. That's the brackets made and bonded to the 3 sections. All being well, It should have it's first trial fit tonight than off again for a fresh coat of paint. Stay tuned for pics
  2. Cheers lads. Lookin forward to seeing the end result. You think I should paint the brackets are leave them un coated alloy? Dean - Excellent idea with the carbon centre section. Must keep an eye out for one that would suit.
  3. I have a spare EP82 spoiler and decided I want to make it adjustable. So far, I've done the difficult bit of cutting the OE spoiler into 3 sections and removed 10mm from the ends to allow for the thickness of the alloy brackets. I hope I've cut it completely symmetrical! I've modelled the brackets and hope to get them CNC'd soon. Then it will be a case of bonding the brackets onto each open end and maybe get it resprayed before fitting. Didn't fancy spending a fortune on a TOM's spoiler so I'll hopefully have the next best thing. Will post up pics when its fitted.

  5. I would head to a scrap yard and find a civic fan. That means it will bolt straight onto the rad if you bolt it to the back that is. You would prob need a slim line fan if you want to put it on the front. You can simply reverse the polarity of the fan to make it push air through the rad. A Spal fan would be ideal for mounting on the front but you'd have to make up some brackets for mounting it.
  6. It's the same as the prius yeah. It does refer to my hybrid turbo which makes a bit more sense.
  7. Its a charcoal filter designed to absorb petrol vapour while the car is parked. Once you start the car the vapors from the charcoal canister are purged back into your engine and burned.
  8. Stange one mate, As someone has already suggested, get the CT9 back on and if the noise disappears, it's time to open up the turbo!
  9. I just fitted an anti lift kit today. It doesn't matter which way round the plate is as long as the bush is offset to the outside of the car. Therefore both your diagrams are OK. The plate is just a spacer with a slot for tolerance of fitting.
  10. Sad to hear it mate! Hope fitting the new gucci bits helped lift the mood. Out of interest, whats the name of the company in Govan?
  11. What sort of mesh was it? You did the right thing taking the pipework off and removing the wire. If some of the wire found its way through the intercooler, I'd be wanting to do an oil change and check the sump for any stray bits that may have found a way in. Do you have a magnetic sump plug? I'll take a look at the turbo for you when you get it off.
  12. Gutted mate. Alan told me the story of how you aquired it!! You could take it apart and check to see what the damage is. Best outcome would be no internal damage, just remove the mesh particles and re assemble possibly with a rebuild kit (seals bearings etc) while its apart. If there is more damage, you could send it away to the likes of universal turbos for a complete rebuild. Will cost you though!
  13. My old GT limited (Minus the decals on the doors) How my love for starlets began
  14. I wasn't sufin on ma phone today so not sure.
  15. So far so good for me. Couldn't fault them so far. What's your problem
  16. Result, it's always worthwhile keeping old parts. Never know when you'll need to reuse them
  17. I've bought those nuts from toyota before. I'm not sure if they will stock the studs though. Give them a ring and have your chassis number ready. If you can't get a stud I can send you one off an old manifold.
  18. Not that it helps but I had a white bonnet on my GT for almost 2 years. The look grew on me but I eventually decided to be normal and fit a black one.
  19. I could have a go for you mate. I can replicate the image and get the decals cut in my work in a single colour. If you're interested, let me know the colour and overall length and I'll be happy to have a go.
  20. You'll need one of these JDM Baby on board decals!
  21. Congrats. Don't let anyone tell you a starlet is too small as a family car!
  22. If they can't reshape it. Maybe a machine shop could turn it into a slash cut by chopping off the bent bit. Just a thought.
  23. I used Cumbria Logistics and sent a Gearbox from Glasgow to York. Cost about £60 on a quarter pallet (below 60cm in height) 32kg is spot on
  24. Hi, Trying to get a few more cars down to a r/r day on Sat 1st March (this saturday). There are currently 5 cars heading down. Would anyone else be interested? Check this tgtt thread for details. http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/showthread.php?t=7364
