  1. Red painted are from Levin and TRD are from my SW20 turbo MR2, exactly same...
  2. Car went out of garage, so pissed to clean shit away behind fuel filler tube wall. Have to do this before installing. Luckily summer is here, no more snow shit This must be ready this weekend, hopefully free weekend from job also...
  3. 95% sure that this is problem, overfueling. Or very badly leaking injectors. Try start gaspedal full throtle so engine get air and ventilate intake manifold 20s before starting by keeping gaspedal on.
  4. Good to know, disks are not always the best choice
  5. EP70/71/75 and NP70 = P7EP80/82/85 and NP80 = P8
  6. P7/8 or maybe Corolla, Paseo, Tercel etc. Very similar parts used in other Toyotas...
  7. P9 have 48,5mm (later model) and P8 have smaller. Haven't measured P7, my mate do custom bushings after I swap P9 axle.
  8. Some airpipe or blade behind drum/disk, not maybe vents because of water, just outer ventilation maybe? And only if drums are overheating, is there big problems on a track? Here is one of my GT brakes on n/a axle, easy to change disks later if needed, maybe starting with drums, pistons are so jammed that I almost have try drums first, can´t get those out :/
  9. I have Levin twinpot front brakes coming. Rear drums are very good overal, maybe better than disks, only visual or track use are reason to change those. Braking balance is most important way to control or compensate braking. Plan is to take original adjuster away and use some adjustable aftermarket part. And my car is coming to street use mostly, so drums are fine most of time.
  10. First most important thing is check piston and head inlet valve squishing area cap, there starts Your head gasket calculation, detonation will kill engine very easily and piston ring are first place were it starts. Max 1mm and under is way to go...
  11. How many of you have suffered rear drum brakes fading or overheating. What brand shoes are you using? Any air blade patents added for better cooling? I may use EP91 drums in my EP70, but also have disk brakes from EP82 GT. Was wondering how shit drums are in track, trying to keep those long as possible. Better brake pads available for calibers and lower temps, only reason to swap. Do my light P7 survive track days in future?
  12. Water causes misrife so oil can also do that.
  13. I didn't find bushings to my 1987 EP70, so I went forward hardest way and swapping shortened and modified 1996 n/a EP91 axle. Next old EP70 axle goes for modifying, custom made bushings and agressive camber stubs. That is maybe Your destiny also, somebody have to do those for You...
  14. Maybe I have to put EP82 GT disks then, I, m having those also and brand new BluePrint cables for those. Plan was to keep drum long as possible, because better handbrake. I have also EP91 n/a drum brakes and cables, but don't know are those too long for EP70 body, 8cm longer axle arms. I'm gona do hydraulic handbrake also side of cable system, for autoslalom...
  15. Arg, I bought new drum handbrake cables and other have red cover, damn, I'm pedant and this can't allowed :/ Red don't have any brand and cheap looking plastic mounting point. Other black is made by Shibami Japan and good lookin quality. Called already to Koivunen customservice and got info that all right cables in Finland are red and no more coming.Have to hunt black one outboard somewhere. Never seen red cable, life is hard sometimes :/
  16. Can come also from valves, have few engines where valve spring locking "nails" (or what is right english word) have loosen away and some valve fail after hitting pistons. Or bearings, maybe have to open engine before bigger problems :/
  17. Defenetly not injector sound, damn :/
  18. Injectors are sometimes very noisy, my first guess are these, normal sound.
  19. Okay, I maybe know what You mean, same line as where the sealtube edge is
  20. Have to change rocker cover then next time, hopefully don't leak :/ What kind of cap there should be, 1mm or 2mm?
  21. Sounds good plan So easy hide everything in carburator engine specially. I try hide brakelines etc from firewall, not now but later, first have to do plans if using pedal box systems in cabin...
  22. I pushed seals in bottom, I think that way those are ment to be installed? I hammereder old ones out with screwdriver...
  23. Are You hiding wires and fuseboxes in engine room, two separate systems or full swap? I try do one electrics for engine, so can swap full system to any car easily. Later comes 5E-FTE on my EP70, so have to do it better anyway. I wanna hide everything, clean look, only plug wires can be visible... If I was You, I only tint glasses maybe very light, all glasses with same %, I personally don't like teenager look, that it is called in Finland
  24. Drill and weld one nut on the floor, 5min job for somebody.
