nice build. keep up the great work.
-
very nice. some rare items there for sure. the fmic will transform things again.
-
I'm back on this very soon now. I've ordered some glanza v front calipers pad carriers and new yellow stuff pads and larger discs. as well as a seal kit.
-
Some really great items there. Going to be really wicked this GT.
-
Im really looking forward to seeing the finished item here. You are defo going in the right direction.
-
Waw looks fantastic. I can't wait to see that lip I've got at my parents in Fleetwood for the starbo.
-
Looks a great kit with a smaller core and bolt on ct9 turbo hot pipe.
-
See if you can get an original glanza v or GT turbo top mount seal some of the lads on here might be able to help here, alot have gone fmic. If you don't seal the top mount the incoming air will just spill past around the edges causing higher and higher inlet charge temps this is very bad for that new engine. Also make sure all the fins are straight in the top mount. This top mount intercooler is quite in efficient as is. Definitely not for running any higher boost pressure than standard on. You need to make it as efficient as possible if you are running it.

the pipe that comes from the tank to the charcoal canister is the fuel tank vent pipe. this is the pipe that the vent valve goes onto. make sure the pipe/vent valve sits higher than the fuel tank. this prevents fuel draining threw the vent pipe.
yeh i can tell you how to connect the boost switch, (or a switch to do the job).
fantastic job. your going to love it.
are you going to use a front mounted intercooler?. if not and you are using the standard top mount please make sure you use a sealed vent/bonnet scoop. when i say sealed i mean it needs to seal ontop of the top mount intercooler edges. this is a must do.

really exited for you. great progress. i bet its such a relief to hear her run. watching with big interest. congratulations.
-
looks great and ive not seen many in this colour.
-
waw, its cleaned up really well. such a smart little car. did you look to see the size of the throttle.
-
sorry for late reply.
the starlet is at my second home fleetwood. im in oxfordshire at present soon to be going to fleetwood as ive just started my 3 month holiday from work. watch this space.
im just rebuilding the front calipers today using yellow stuff pads and new vented discs.
the front caliper on the paseo are bigger units than the ep91 uk starlet, and the same size as the jdm ep91 glanza v.

yes that is what that plug/pins do. looking great. well done.
is it running yet??.

from what i can find there are only 3xlads (4efe ep91) that have run the different 4efte inlet camshaft, all reporting much better mid to topend torque/pull/mph (speeds), but none have had them on the dyno.
i have even spoken to a lad that ran a 4efe inlet cam in a 98spec glanza v running the ct9 B turbo on the g6 gearbox. he told me the car had much faster boost delivery with seamless power delivery he was running 1bar pressure with supporting mods on a blitz access ecu. he wasn't sure on peak power but he said he beat alot of 200 to 250hp. on the streets, saying they had to launch hard to even stay next to him. a great option for bigger turbo builds.
ive seen well speced uk ep91 hit 92hp, so the cams & head work should get you near if not at the 100hp mark. for a 1.3ltr engine its a very very good figure. what surprised me?, alot better information came about away from the owners web sites.

waw great work. how does she feel on that setup.
-
ill have a look now. sorry about late replay.
-
yeh good news the cam difference seems to have been overlooked and i can tell you makes a hell of a difference.
-
The paseo is due it's mot this month. I've been concentrating on this just at present.
Then I can finally get up to the northwest to pick up some parts and get back on with the ep91 4efe+t build.
I've recently replaced the front lower ball joints, and roll bar droplinks, both rear drums and shoes + bearings, as well as clean up the rust and hameright the front lower cross member behind the front bumper. Quite a bit of rust on it but savable.
I'm also waiting for the tdo4 exhaust flange to turn up so I can use do the zisco exhaust mod.
-
Yeh they swap over. There are differences with the steering columns however.
-
Hope all is well and you get the were you want to be.
-
Really enjoying this.
Are you fitting the 4efte engine.
-
Alittle in sight into next year's massive regulation changes as well as there impact.
Also just on the carbon fiber layering that red bull does is so fine tuned that certain parts will pass the load testing (flexibility regulations). But at a procise load flex to either reduce drag or increase down force. Mind blowing stuff, really next level.
Really impressive understanding of carbon fiber architecture. I can't tell you how blown away i am about this.

There not. I've measured them my self the 4efte and 5efe are the same but the UK ep91 has a different intake cam around 1mm lower lift on the 4efte and 5efe. I'm yet to measure the gen1 4efe out of the ae101 and ep80.
Trust me it's true anuff. Measure them, don't just read specs and believe them.
Time to embrace the truth.
There are quite a few specs on that sheet that is incorrect.
From power out, to injector size to cam profile.

that sounds insane. haha. whats the spec to get it sound like that. sounds like your not running a blow off valve.
really enjoying your build.
