    New Car

Cheaper than a GT surprisingly. Autotrader insurance.

    New Car

B16, 150bhp. But then it's like 20 years old so I doubt it's anywhere near that.

    New Car

I think I'll always love Starlets, can't forget your first car lol. But I'll see how the Honda goes. Will get some pics the weekend.

    New Car

Is that a hint that I'll love the Honda too much to go back to a Starlet?

    New Car

I'm picking up a new car saturday morning. No it's not a Starlet GT... but a Honda CRX VTEC. It's not perfect and needs a few jobs doing but can't complain at the price. Will get some pics up on the weekend when I get it. It's going to be a stop-gap in between getting a GT, so I will be back to Starlets eventually.

    Rant!

I hate people who boot it on the straights then slow right down for corners!

    Bad Idea?

Didn't buy it, headgasket was gone, needed some work. But now I've seen one I want one. So I'm on the lookout for either a GT or a CRX.

    Bad Idea?

It's had a lady owner for the past 10 years and full service history and all that so should be fairly good. The only thing I'm concerned about is rust as I notice alot of them are prone to rust problems round the rear arches.

    Bad Idea?

Right as some people might know my old N/A got wrote off a few months ago and since then I've been looking for a GT with no luck so far. Every GT I've thought of buying has given me a problem. Either the seller has not answered calls/emails, the car has been shit, or I've not had enough money. I've been without a car for 3 months or so now and getting really fucked off, as I don't do anything else other than drive or mess around with cars. So I've done pretty much fuck all for nearly 3 months. So I got bored and had a look at some Honda's and have come accross a 1989 Honda CRX for ÂÂ

    E-brake Info

Have you tightened it up properly?
  11. Some people seem to make a fuss over SR's and I really don't understand why. Ok they have a few nice extras but I personally they're very over hyped. This is how I look at it with some of the parts the SR comes with compared to just buying a different model of N/A Starlet: Lowering springs - most people change these anyway and I think most would prefer a 40mm drop rather than the SR's 25mm. Exhaust - yes the exhaust on these is nice and probably the only part I'd really keep, but alot of people change exhausts anyway. Alloys - nothing wrong with these at all but again you'd just buy them any
  12. What's so bad about 112mph?
  13. Black quadlamp, couple of mods (BOV/black multispokes/exhaust/optional sideskirts), 65k miles, looks tidy. Fingers crossed I'll have it by this afternoon.
  14. Haha gaz I've had exactly the same thing the last week or so, shit routine I'm always doing it, have to sort of force yourself to stay awake a whole day then go to bed early and sort the time out lol. The annoying thing is it takes ages to put right and then ONE late night fucks it all up again. Pretty excited today though I might be getting a GT.
  15. That looks very nice, still on the standard wheels aswell looks like you got a good buy there. Welcome to UKSC
  16. For the amount of money you'd spend on a VXR you'd have a very very quick Starlet.
  17. I spend far too much time on here as I don't have a car at the moment and got fuck all to do.
  18. Give it a quick blast with a jetwash just to get the shit off it. It aint gonna make it shine but it atleast gets the crap off.
  19. Don't waste your money, buy a "good quality" manifold off one of the traders rather than ebay. Cheap grades of stainless steel are useless.
  20. You've taken that a bit too seriously mate I was talking in general. Nothing aimed specifically at one person. All this "burnt bridges" stuff is nonsense. From an outsider's point of view it just looks like a bad case of crossed wires to me.
  21. He does know his way round the engines, he has a Glanza himself and has done work on a Glanza which I was there when it was done and I can assure you it was a proper job. I think the main problem here is that hardly anyone has heard of TB Developments, it would be a shame to shoot it down especially for us lads in the midlands as we'd usually have to travel hours to a Starlet specialist whereas I can literally go 5-10 minutes down the road to Tim's workshop. This isn't just someone who has came out of know where and trying to start up a business, he's been doing it for a long time and now wan
  22. If you wanted a 2.0 turbo 4WD I'd much rather have a GT-Four.
  23. I think he might have given up on it. What I find stupid is not even being able to advertise the business in sigs or whatever. Not being able to trade is one thing as other traders will have more competition but not being able to advertise business is unhelpful to local Starlet owners who would have to travel hours for a Starlet specialist. Which we don't have in the West Midlands as far as I know. I've seen Tim's work and it's top notch, and he does his own products for MR2's so it's easy to assume that he would be doing them for Starlets once he gets into it. It's not just some back yard b
  24. That's bullshit mate but I aint going to kick up a fuss as I'm on here 24/7 lol. Did you mention anything about doing your own Starlet products in the future and you simply need a foothold on the ladder for now or was it just a straight up no not allowed?
