Go on blackcircles.com they have 195/45/15. £40 each. And no it's not 5mm difference it's 5% of the width of the tyre. (The sidewalls are measured as a percentage).
-
http://www.blackcircles.com/ Something like £40 each on there I bought some a few weeks ago.

T1-R's only understeer when you have a fair bit of steering lock on. What I found with them is they're excellent when they have plenty of tread, then when it starts wearing down they get worse and worse and worse and eventually they are useless. Lay off the wheelspins and they'll be ok though.
-
I use T1-R's, £40 each, can't fault them at all. Great grip all round, for fast road use they do the job very well. The only thing that I will say is that they wear down quicker than some other tyres. Take it easy on the wheelspins.

"Anything" is possible but really it's not worth it. You might aswell just use a CT9, it's not as if it's laggy.
-
Sportif's don't have rev counters no but you can buy them fairly cheap off ebay. I did and it works fine.
-
Give me a Starlet that's worth tracking and some petrol and directions and I'll come.
-
This has given me a thought, I'm sure someone mentioned it before though - maybe we should have a reviews section?
-
Cheers mate, I've posted it up and added a short list of the websites with the parts mentioned aswell. Back to the question though, has anyone here tried both the cheapo and expensive parts and have you noticed a considerable difference in performance?
-
lmao please don't tell us you've ordered these things from toytuning?
-
lmao as for the heatwrap have a look on ebay

Phone the police. Someone reported me because of my mates shouting out the window. AND I GOT A FUCKING SECTION 59 FOR IT. If these pricks don't get anything for this and I get a section 59 for doing FUCK ALL then that's just bullshit.

Anyone who's ever looked through websites/shops that sell Starlet parts would have noticed the difference in price between items that are very similar apart from a few small differences - for example Blitz intercoolers cost an arm and a leg whereas you could get a similar size universal core and do some custom piping for less than half the price. For this lets say the car is on a CT9 with the wastegate ported, uprated actuator, standard ECU and is running around 12psi of boost (just under fuel cut). Everything ready for the "stage 1" mods. The most common first few mods are the exhaust system, manifold, decat, air intake, and a FMIC or uprated TMIC. So I was wondering at this point how much difference do the more expensive parts make? Of course when you've spent hundreds on forged internals and a nice big turbo and a good piggyback/standalone you'll want to get the absolute most out of it. But for a less complex and less powerful setup does it really make a world of difference to spend two or three times the amount of money, or are you just paying for the brand name? Before I go any further I know there will be people saying "things are cheap for a reason" and that cheap items will break easily, so we'll rule out the well known cheap parts such as autobahn manifolds for example as I'm sure everyone's heard about them... Here's a list of a selection of the commonly available parts and rough prices: Manifolds SPS £254 Zisco MS Ram style £321 Zisco MS Compact £321 Zisco SS Ram style £384 Zisco SS Compact £384 Decats SPS £119 Monster Motorsport £159 Garage EP £159 TM-Developments £162 Night Pager Screamer Pipe £277 Zep £362 (362 for a small bit of pipe are you fucking serious?) Exhausts TM-Developments £314 Blue Flame £345 Buddy Club Spec 2 £390 HKS Silent Hi-Power £475-£545 Blitz Nur Spec R £500-£550 Intercoolers Japspeed £262 HDI £305 HKS £740+ Blitz £800+ GReddy £950+ Arc TMIC £940 I wont bother with the air intake as there are simply too many options for different setups, different filters, different companies do their own relocation kits but it's all basically the same. Also I've missed out things like RX7 intercoolers, Blitz decats, JAM manifolds, etc... aswell as any "custom" parts, I only went through the common Starlet part websites where parts are easily available so anyone can buy them any time rather than searching for specific hard to find items. So has anyone got any input on this? A few things that stand out to me: TM-Developments exhausts have more than adequate size piping and as far as I know are replicas of the Blitz systems? HDI intercoolers regularly get good comments, Blitz/GReddy/HKS intercoolers cost an arm and a leg. Zep decats are rediculously expensive. I've wrote too much and can't be bothered to write any more so I'll go back to the initial question: are the more expensive parts really worth it when you're on standard turbo/internals?

Asian racing green LOL :P

I made a little guide on this it should be in the how-to section. Red - live when the ignition is on, I wired it into the clock Black - earth, simple enough White - this is the rev signal it goes in that little box in the top right corner of the bay theres a slot called ig- or something like that use a spade connector to it Yellow or whatever it is, this is the one for the light which people say wire into the light switch but I just wired mine into the switched live the same as the power, it works fine and you can't even see the light is on in the daytime anyway

ste91 replied to roo's topic in Other Motors Progress Blogs
I wonder why -
I've had 105 in 4th lol That's with a rolla mani and open air filter
-
Performance wise I'd have a read through the wiki section at the "stage 1" mods.
-
Those wheels really do suit it well. If I get a silver GT I might just have to copy you.
-
I fucking love the look of this car, what wheels are they? The car as a hole looks amazing, just needs a FMIC now.
-
What wheels are they they're fucking nice. Car looks good too.
-
Someone should just make some sort of cover for the engine so water can't get into the spark plugs/leads. Would be alot cheaper than the expensive reverse scoops and people who like the look of the standard scoops would be better off. Maybe it could use the bracket that holds the TMIC in place as somewhere to fix it to?
-
Welcome to UKSC :surrender: If it was me on a £2.5-£3k budget I'd definately be aiming for a GT rather than a Glanza. Have a look in the technical section and read up in the Wiki section for some ideas of what you could do when you get a Starlet.

Well the 5EFHE revs quite high so I wouldn't worry about the bottom end either, it's not like it's revving 8-9-10k rpm, so I wouldn't worry about it aslong as you've got atleast 4EFTE valve springs.
-
Normal 4EFTE valve springs will be fine. All 4E/5E heads are virtually the same except the 4EFTE has stronger springs and the 5EFHE has "better" cams.
