  1. Thats fair thinking man. I just wanted to get across what happened with me because it may be useful to others. I hope they go well for everyone, its just if they were tested they would be a real quality product even one or two before more are made.
  2. I did just mention it ste :harhar: And you are right, the characteristics of the manifold will ultimately determine the output that you are going to get from your exhaust system which is why it is important to do at least some R&D when designing one with a range of setups.
  3. Im all for this group buy but there is no point in jumping the gun and hope that just because it looks right that its going to make a difference and that your customers will be happy with it. In truth a well designed 4 branch manifold certainly will work well with a good setup and that would include a performance orientated exhaust system. I think you will be fairly limited with the stock system especially on the 4EFE but thats where testing could prove me wrong. I moved onto the 5EFE for a reason and that is the extra torque available to deal with any losses in some areas or to complement
  4. It may defeat the object with what Lewis said however only testing will be able to determine if it will be effective along with some before and after dyno runs. I would seriously get some test units made before everyone piles in their hard earned. Im just going with my past experiences that when changing to a 4 branch manifold you have to lose something to gain something else, it is very difficult to get the best of both worlds. Bolt ons do not always work as intended. Im sure starbus is a very good fabricator but its just more customer friendly to at least do some testing and a few tweaks
  5. Cheers bro Just the customary chinese new year dinner with everyone.
  6. Just want to say Gung Hei Fat Choi to all the guys and gals on UKSC That includes Shelly, Tony, Albert and Eric and anyone else I missed Hope everything is prosperous for everyone this new year and that you stick to your newer resolutions! Don't get too and spend your laycee wisely (like on the EP)
  7. Congrats on the MOT pass Kara Hope you have another happy year of EP motoring. Keep the posts on topic please people
  8. Nice to see a decent update Nath Things certainly seem to be moving better now that you've cleared out the garage. Keep it up mate. Not too long now!
  9. Nice Work Craig. The final speeds look really great on your EP. Keep it up.
  10. Are you still on standard suspension Jimmy? If so then you will have no control over the hardness of your rear suspension. If on standard, to remedy the slidy tail end invest in a rear strut brace and rear anti roll bar. That WILL sort out the problem and make the rear much more sturdier. If on aftermarket shocks and springs or coilovers they may have damping adjustment on them which you can set to be a bit softer. Please tell us more about your current setup, then we will be able to help you more.
  11. ^^ Who knows... Idrees a decent 5E build is going to cost you more than 1k mate don't be deceived. You've felt the power of the FTE in various EPs so I think it will be well worth the wait and a much better bang for buck investment and near unlimited potential. The FTE will need more maintenance but it is more practical than a higher powered na which needs hard driving to get the best out of it. I wouldn't waste your money on anything else. I don't think you'd enjoy the flat out driving that is involved with a highly tuned 5E n/a EP which is something I have to go through. Its not that
  12. Really sorry to see this babynikzs, luckily you are not physically hurt Hope that you get her ship shape again real soon and catch the ****** that did this. I'd replace the whole door but that rear quarter panel might not be handy. All the best.

  20. Hey mate Have a gander in the technical section of our sister site AUStarletclub> 4EFE Turbo Info At the top you can see pinned topics covering 'turboing a 4efe' and 'costs involved to turbo charge a starlet'. All the info you will ever need is in there. Happy reading. Hope this helps.
  21. Loving your new DC5 Stevie. All the best with her mate.
  22. Not a prob Sam. Did you manage to get a quote Si?
  23. How much will delivery be on top for one of these to NI Sam?
  24. You can get a 0.5mm trd head gasket as well because I have one waiting to go on.The raise in compression will be fairly small. I have no means to measure the compression ratio rise as I dont have the skills but a decent engine specialist or mechanic will be able to calculate this for you. There is no accurate way to measure or predict what benefits or drawbacks you are going to have from fitting one, the same goes for the obx. Im the only one known in the UK to fit an obx to my 4EFE and it wasnt great, it is designed for the 5EFE after all. The 4E lacks torque and it will find it hard to ma
  25. Aye it was crazykid who had the 6 speed. Was there actually any acceleration improvement though besides the mistaken overdrive... he didnt mention any? There are other ways to keep the power going but you are right, gearing and especially a better final drive could be very beneficial (but expensive) on an n/a but Im not going to try it. Im banking on a lightened flywheel and underdrive crank pulley to even the odds on the accel front and the diff to put it all down to the ground better. Im also thinking of going for polybushes all round which I will do in time.
