  1. Thats rapid. In the comments below it mentions a gt30 turbo! Must be well over 300 bhp
  2. lets start with the basics first and work our way up. have you tried making the idle lower with idle screw. normally there is a little nut, that you have to loosen then you might be able to decrease the idle. can also take a picture of inside the throttle body with the air intake pipe off. i need to see the butterfly. also double check the pipes have not split or are blocked. specially the idle control valve pipe which is thin. let us know how it goes
  3. ^^ know what you mean mate can be frustrating sometimes. did the same thing with my old car, i think it happened because i didn't let the engine go cold again, was still warm so one of them snapped! i would check the rocker cover first, may need new gasket???
  4. i would use 10w/40 Mobil Super S semi synthetic, i think that they use a new name for is now. here is a link from halfords OIL
  5. i had exactly the same problem. it only does it when the car is fully warmed up and at idle revs. then after some time it gotta looser and used to sometimes screech loudly when driving especially in the wet. its was the fan belt that was loose, needed a bit of tightening. very easy job. check the condition of the belt while your doing that might need changing if that doesn't help I also herd starlets belts squeak when idle rpm is too low, below 750. so raise the rpm slightly to 800-850 and it will go away. ;)
  6. Hi, Sounds like you've got most of the base mods covered in terms of breathing mods. You could turn up the boost to 1 bar and adjust your fuel accordingly, that will see u a nice gain. Or even get a hybrid ct9 turbo
  7. i remember this guy, made me laugh! he used to say "if they dont sell i will just bin them, thats what im like, people dont like it but thats me". knew he wasn't going to bin them. still £200 not a bad price for all that.
  8. here is a link that might help you link try looking in the technical discussion and look for how 2 tutorials tutorials
  9. ^^^ You would have to go view the car before bidding on it. Its 2 risky to buy a car without seeing it in the flesh first
  10. ^^^ Hi, could i ask what mods have you done to your engine? How do you rate the manifold in terms of performance and quality thanks
  11. Congrats!!! New job sounds ace! Guess youll be the man for custom intercoolers lol
  12. what colour is the smoke. It could be a number of things, e.g. Vavle stem seals or a shagged turbo
  13. use only very short stubby one. they make it much easier to undo. the length is about 10-12cm including a fat handle for better grip. a cloth also helps with grip.
  14. i cleaned a idle control valve on my mate micra once, you need to use a short stubby screw driver, it makes it easier to undo them. can pick them up from B&Q for a couple of quid. stanley ones are good because of the grip. good luck with your upgrade.
  15. Nice vid thanks for sharing That is awesome, the flames are HUGE!! keep an eye on your bumper mate.

  17. ^^ if he braked during mid corner he still would of slid off
  18. I got the same bosch drill, the 450R good drill, sure you had it in hammer mode car looks clean keep up the good work
  19. ^^ that is about as good as it gets. such a nice finish looks epic! I'm sure ep82 member would want one. make one for a ep91
  20. ^^ same here mate Im pretty sure its the hazard light button as well. the button on the left should be for the boost and the the right is rear screen demister.
  21. sometimes the fully comp insurance it cheaper because of the excess. you can try going fully comp and bumping up the excess, but that is risky.
  22. tbh i'm not 100% sure myself because. cant understand why they would be different. but could be wrong best bet would be to ask camskill because £57 is expensive!
  23. basically the water temperature sensor will tell the ecu if the engine is cold or hot. if hot idle lower (normal operating temp) and if cold idle higher. i presume if the sensor is not working properly you could get fluctuating idle as the sensor keeps changing it mind on whether its hot or cold i remember someone else having replaced this part resolved their problem. this could be the case for you. you might as well try, its a cheap fix. here's a link clicky ;)
  24. i have seen that add before its not a neon light its just a silver sticker that has reflected when someone has taken the pic does anyone one know if the paseo dashboard glove box will fit a starlet? they look the same to me but not sure.
  25. mate there is earthing cable that attaches to the top side of the gearbox ( if i remember correctly) im guessing who ever done it forgot to put it back on? i haven't got any pics of it but someone else might. if not i will take a pic for you, will be tomorrow though.
