  1. Compression tester must be working a little bit if you're getting a reading, so I would imagine you have damaged piston/ring/ringland on cylinder 3. Hope you get it sorted soon!
  2. Computer Programmer, I'm also 30.. But my daily 530i makes up for the boy racer Starlet track car.
  3. Going to be doing the following my my car over the winter and am beginning to think it'll make the whole job easier to remove engine and gearbox to do the work.. - Cambelt - Oil Pump - Water Pump - LSD Service - Gearbox recon What do we reckon? There's no time frame to get the thing running again, probably march/april time next year so I have time on my side. But in my mind it's going to be easier to just get everything out of the engine bay for ease of access and then plonk it all back in when I'm done.
  4. Vegas is good fun, and you'll be ready for a slice of normality after 4 days.. You don't need a visa, you need to get your ESTA which you do online before you leave. I went a couple of years ago, go to old town vegas as that's where the cheaper casinos and bars are. Play some black jack and have the local old ladies teach you how to play properly, it's good fun. They say you get free drinks whilst you gamble, and yes this is true, but unless you're a high roller who tips big, you wont be inundated with service. Be careful at the bars in the larger casinos, I paid $100 for 4 beers and 4 shots of jaeger in one of them. Hoover dam is well worth a visit, as is the grand canyon.. The less said about winning back your ex with a trip to vegas the better, April is a long way away, a lot can happen between then and now. Airlines don't like changing names on tickets either, and I'm pretty sure it's against the law in the US to do so.
  5. Every bugger wants a slice of the 'PT' pie, it's quite amusing. Your 'depth' squats, are actual squats, everything before it didn't even meet parallel. Ass to fucking grass my man. Best of luck with it all mind, there's plenty of people making money out of this game these days.
  6. Air line / compressed air and just blow the dust off.
  7. Very easy to steal these things, mine was taken and pretty quickly blown up by some chumps a few years ago. They're brilliant though, would have another!
  8. I pushed an Evo 4, Evo 8, and 996 911 out of the way at the weekend, I have 140whp.. People who say these cars can't or wont work on track, don't know what they're talking about
  9. They're good, will be going for Kumho v70's next though, I prefer them.
  10. Ah, yeh. You don't need big old turbo to go quickly on track. I have a TF035 on the shelf if I feel the need for a bit more go
  11. EMB, what are you getting at?
  12. Made 140 at the hubs when it was mapped.
  13. It's a Tongs hybrid at about 12 psi
  14. Cool.. Look forward to seeing them! Shame it isn't the same layout. As for the dash it has been flocked.
  15. Some well used A048r's
  16. Cheers, really happy with the car. Time to save some more weight and invest in some proper brake pads. The EBC yellows fitted to my WMS calipers whilst do a good job, aren't brilliant. But that's to be expected at that price point!
  17. >https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RESIPyN8I5U Chasing my friends 328i track car on slicks and with aero. My car ran pretty faultless for the entire day, learnt a lot, and have a path for improvements now as well.
  18. He should have said hello! At that moment I was trying to fix the only problem I had all day, and that was bodywork rubbing Tyres when I had a passenger in the car. In the end I just had to go steady whenever I took someone out, some arch massaging is going to be needed. There's some video from the day too, I'll post that later.
  19. I use mine on track, in fact, it's all I use it for. It's good fun, predictable on the limit and plenty fast enough with a similar level of hp at around 170. http://ep82.wordpress.com if you wanted to read about it and what I've done, it's quite comprehensive.
  20. Unlikely, hopefully most of the plugs are similar.
