That bolt is cross threaded get a new bolt from toyota and it looks grim but worth a shot.

If you leave it does the temerature then drop again after spiking. you can remove and check the thermostat is working by heating it an a saucepan. Have you checked for air in the coolung system ad that is what it sounds like. -

Yes both 4e and 5e are the.same only difference is sone are non powersteering whixh come fitted on poverty spec n/as

Wont be anything to do with the belt mate, i would not be surprised if they try telling you some bull about boost after they fitted the cooler. rpm kills rods and boost kills pistons.if they try telling you that it was caused before you got there id shove the rod somewhere it shouldnt be

That is recent dude you would have noticed well before now if it happened when your cooler was fitted

Fook me lol you would have noticed that regardless of oil condition. High rpm kills rods i would put money on the fact your mechanic has taken your car for a spin and given it a pasting.im guessing your not a redline type of guy

Ha ha yeah weather us crappy at the moment, my garage is full of parts lol could do with a clear out I'm young to invest in a travel heater for mine do it can be plugged into the ciggy lighter and taken out on track then to save the weight lol. You going for poly windows or just leaving as is?
