clicky have a look on there all the info you could need.put up an intro on there and see whats what.they are pretty helpfull to be fair.i will warn you now that it is higly addictive ha ha.you will end up welding whatever you can get your hands on lol
-
if i were you buddy i would keep your eye out on the bay for a half tidy mig to learn with.i found it so easy to pick up.some will disagree im sure but with a mig if you cant get on with it you can allways sell it on for pretty much what you paid for it.if you go for a mig get a gas mig as gasless are crap and the wire is extautionate. to practice on i used a meter of angle iron and just cut it into chunks and weld bit on so you get the feel for it and the plus point is if you get into it you can make pretty much anything you want.

why go for high power, why not get your ep to around 250ish then start making it light= win. s14a i presume good fun cheap to mod but will not be as quick imo, unless you want to have a crack at the drifting scene. both good fun either way

crank pulley
james@cjperformance replied to james@cjperformance's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
cool tthanks for clearing that up people. -
as above does the crank pulley come apart as one part of it runs the alternator and waterpump and the other part runs the powersteering pump. does it split down the middle? cheers james
-
well go down there and tell them the above if you have no joy then contact trading standards and they will tear them a new one. A pump will NOT fail due to a turbo they are just fobbing you off with bullshit stories to try and cover there arse, what you have said above suggests to me that they have no clue as to what they are doing and if i were in your shoes they would not be putting a spanner near my car ever again. this is trading standards phone number 08454 04 05 06, give them a ring to make them aware of the situation. if you tell them they have tried to rectify your problem once befo
-
i would be asking for every penny i ghad handed over to them BACK.cant stand muppets that do a half arsed job of something then will haggle with you about putting it right. two words you need to say to them.......trading standards ask them if they have got customer and product liability insurance.....if they are registered and trading they should have. if they do have insurance tell them you will be claiming off that to pay for your engine to be put right by a reputable garage. that alone should put the shits up them enough for them to hand you back your money so you can take it elsewhere.

can't start thread on Mozilla Firefox?
james@cjperformance replied to Dan507's topic in Club Development
i think it has something to do with whatever version of firefox you are using.i have never had a problem using anything on here, it remembers my password and i can post replys, quick replys quote etc and im using an older version of firefox. those who have issues with it have you not long updated you firefox? as mine has been asking me to update for the past fortnight and i havent got around to doing it yet.so i think i will leave it as it is for now. -
help choosing next car
james@cjperformance replied to james@cjperformance's topic in Lifestyle General
well it will be a rev 1 or 2 i will be having in anycase as i havent got 4k handy to buy a rev 3. rev 1s can be picked up for around £800 with a few minor problems and higher mileage but it will be having a rebuild anyway so that really does not matter.so the mr2 is winning so far. -
help choosing next car
james@cjperformance replied to james@cjperformance's topic in Lifestyle General
it will mainly be used for track and going to shows etc and the odd weekend here and there, the only bad report ive heard of with rev 1 and 2s is that the engines arent as strong in them.is this true or just a myth. oh and i like cars that are a pain in the arse to work on lol keeps me busy. -
as above really i want a new car and im not sure what to go for, the insurance on the gt is more expensive than the mr2 but tax is higher.which one would you get? any opinions welcome, either way they will both end up being forged and lots of carbon, help me ;)
