sure i found a thread with all the torque settings a while ago but cant find it now.

make sure ya check the mani to turbo bolts and gasket. i always put mine on uber tight and was left with only 2 bolts on it one day. didnt sound the best like. also if you do notice the bolts are loose wait till its cooled down before ya touch them ( i learned that the hard way ). ya been havin boost probs for a while so ya might have already had a look at this

u did get fleeced if u did actually pay over 230 quid for a skim lol. there a place here that does it for 30. i dunno because I've not added up parts but im sure if you done it yourself you could maybe end up slightly better off than buying an engine as a whole but i could be wrong.

all parts will be here on tuesday to build my spare engine and hopefully if it all goes to plan ill get 1. the pistons and crank in on tuesday 2. everythin else bar main crank pulley ( dont have a spare one ) bolted on by friday 3. after work take the head of current engine and put it on to the spare one and get the crank pulley off my engine. 4. time up the engine and put all belts on 5. drop engine out of my car 6. engine off stand and put gearbox on 7. drop into car and connect up 8. test drive 9. wait for japfest my clutch doesnt slip at the moment so it should be in decent condition so im not replacing that just now as its to expensive Wish me luck peoples.

i know the crank must be the same as alot of people have said their 4efe's have them. whats fucked on the bottom end ?

if thats what they said then do it lol my first car when i was 17 was a clio 1.4 and was gettin 2k quotes and then out of the blue on confused zurich said 600 so snapped it up lol

if its loose id say its a slightly different size and goin by how everythin else like clutch n flywheel is diff on the engines id say different parts. just an assumption tho but if its loose its not gonna be stopping much oil comin out.

well if you want a proper rebuild then you really wanna replace EVERYTHING lol all depends on how seriously you wanna rebuild it. when i do another engine im replacing every single thing for peace of mind because spending lots of money on an engine to have a little part fail and have a knockon effect would be a bit crap

as above. when my bottom end is built ill need to swap the head off my other engine onto it so is swapping the headbolts essensial when doing this ? thanks Russell
