you use UKSC and yet promote for the people who tried to put us out of business for their own gain? really? i dont care who anyone advertises for, im happy to advertise for the Northern Ireland Italian Motors Club, but then, they didnt try to ruin us. the fact remains you are arguing to be allowed to promote a site that for a period of 4 months ACTIVELY sought to shut us down by taking our name, and the second we had a hitch, they pop up like vultures. i dont know who these clowns are but their entire brainfart is simply out fucking standing. a round of applause for their ingenuity and desire to put effort into something. here's the final say, that site wont be allowed to advertise on here unless there is a great big link to UKSC on their home page. you make that happen and we'll talk about a joint venture and letting them advertise on here. until then, as far as we are concerned, they wont be advertised on UKSC in any capacity. im fairly sure thats pretty clear. Several points i wish to raise with respect to this: they have no ref to you? You state on facebook your "bro" made the site as per the below image: admittedly, this does not necessarily mean he is kin to you, could be another term for mate. or your brother made it for someone else which i suspect is the case. then, when we go to starletclub.co.uk we get this: so...the guy behind the forum is Sheriff, who has been trying to buy our name and put us out of business. And your bro started the site. those two points are both clear. you can see how from the second image we can easily assume that Sheriff does infact own starletclub.co.uk, or am i making an incorrect assumption based on the fact he is the entire admin of the site. whatever the story, it is clear your brother made the site, he may not own it, but your own words are that he made it. and to directly answer the above, im fairly sure its obvious that you were singled out. of course you were, i dont understand why you would ask that question?? are you infact not the only person advertising that site in your signature????? by virtue of the fact that you are, then of course u are singled out. you want the story here it is: 1. I spotted a post by you today. 2. I spotted your sig. 3. I started a thread in the admin lounge asking for opinions as i find the thought of promoting them here disgusting given their actions which u have not addressed. 4. Jay would hardly let me advertise that on his site if i opportunistically fired it up during a TGTT technical hitch would he! i will say this one more time - it was removed because of THE SITE you are advertising. this site and its admin have attempted to capitalise on the downtime experienced by this club and the frustration that people felt during that time. Why, why , why in the name of God would we want to allow ANYONE not just you to advertise that place on this site???? we allow TGTT and tocirl because they never tried to have off with our fucking domain name. we, the UKSC Admin, can choose who we do and do not allow to advertise on this forum, same way TOC didnt let Geo and Shelly advertise UKSC on there i 2005. as i said, what fucks me off is the way it was all done and the unoriginal name adopted. by all means please develop the scene. but do it originally, how can you develop a new group when its another existing site simply rehashed. not exactly unique or original. im not sayin UKSC is leading the way with forums and clubs, but we're no cheap knock-off tryig to take advantage of the hard work of other people. but advertise away. UKSC will be grand no matter how many similarly named sites appear. folk know what UKSC does and they like it. FYI Socks has removed his forum and forwarded the domain names to UKSC of his own free will. no one else is advertising similarly named sites to this one ON this site. i received alot of messages from various members both of the forum and the UKSC FB group saying how disgusted they were at the opportunistic attempt by starletclub.co.uk to have a swipe at UKSC's identity as soon as we had a problem and where was the UKSC family spirit in it! seems its not just me who got fucked off and disgusted at it. As soon, AS SOON as we went down www.starletclub.co.uk comes online, a "forum" with a not so very clever play on UKSC's own URL. If you want to create your own EP site thats no problem, we encourage further development within the scene, but pretty much trying to rip off UKSC's identity with a cunningly clever URL that will serve to misdirect people searching for ukstarletclub.com and making efforts to slide some of our members over to this other forum is just plain lazy and devious. Opptunistic isn't even the word! as soon as we are down, BOOM, there it is, how convenient. thats what fucks me off most, trying to capitalise on a problem on UKSC. vultures have more patience! However, that being said, I take your point about other forums being advertised in sigs, although i refer to my above statement regarding those being completely different sites from UKSC, not poor imitation wanabes. I've always had a lot of time for you Luke, u know that full well. You helped to promote and develop the atmosphere we have here on UKSC. yet you are happy to see this site with such a similar name try to have a shot at taking our identity, and when that failed because Geo wouldnt sell, it basically ripped us off instead. let me make one more thing clear to Sheriff if he reads this. UKSC's domain name is not for sale. Never has been, nor will it be. BUT, if it ever is, it will be sold to ME, so that UKSC and her identity are preserved and not threatened or ruined. by all means keep the address, its not going to threaten what we have built here. but u could have PM'd steve about it, why call him out infront of everyone? and why not call me out instead?? im more than happy to answer your questions. no need to shoot off at steve in public. Evening folk of UKSC! As I said the other day, we need to being UKSC back as strongly as possible and one of the things that jumped out at me during the recent downtime was communication amongst the admin team and that it was the usual suspects involved in every discussion. So, we agreed that some fresh faces were needed to liven things up a bit and to provide a more active Admin Team for UKSC. Having discussed this with the rest of the team, I am very excited to announce that the following individuals have accepted an offer to become Moderators here on UKSC. I'm sure they are all known to the vast majority of our members and are considered as proper EP enthusiasts and UKSC to the core. Please help me welcome to the Moderator Team: Ryan Lang Daz gt turbz LukeSR, and Pandamonium (Mark). The lads will all have a period in which to get a feel for the role and for their duties which Steve will assign to them in due course. I am looking forward to working with the lads and I trust that everyone will give them the support they require and will be on their best behaviour so they dont have to flex their Moderator guns. These lads will be the eyes and ears of the Admin team along with the existing Moderators and will keep the Super Mods, Manager, Secretary and the Admin updated and informed as necessary! Red Cherries are breeding! Get in! Got 3 peppered and 3 albino corries today for the fighter cubes, some of the fighters were chasing the shrimp so their cells were dirty, so got the corries. also got 6 more neons for the shoal, to be topped up 6 at a time over the coming weeks and months into one mammoth shoal!!! got a sickly red fighter so have reserved the most epic white and purple VT I've ever seen!!!! One of the most important points that has come from this recent unexpected downtime is that UKSC needs to come back as strongly as possible to safeguard our name, our identity, and the reputation that we have taken so long to establish. With that in mind, there are a few projects, some big, some not so big, in the pipeline that we are keen to implement. Consider the downtime a bit of a kick up the arse to finish some things we have been meaning to do and tinkering at for a while now. However, the admin team needs a little extra support to do that, and so we have made the decision to promote UKSC's resident chef Mr Bower from Moderator to Super Moderator. It may not mean a whole lot to some, but as a Super Mod Rob will help to support Geo, John, Steve and myself at a higher admin level. I haven't quite figured out how it will all pan yet, but what brought us to this decision was Rob's commitment and dedication to information sharing during the recent down time. As soon as Rob discovered the problem he was straight on the blower to myself and the rest of the team. He helped to calm the situation and immediately spread the word wide and fast as soon as we had access to the boards again, hell he was the one who told me how to find it!!!!! Rob will still fulfil his duties as a forum moderator, and JAE show representative and organiser, as well as being solely in charge of providing dining solutions to meet my needs when I venture to our... I mean his and Amy's love nest in Worksop, and for ensuring I am well alcoholed and fed at JAE if I ever get the chance to visit again. A bit of a kick up the arse is needed for us admin after this incident, shouldn't be resting on yesterdays laurels, and this is the first step in the run-up to that kick in the pants. the thanks goes to Geo for making the access happen, and to Steve John and Bower for helping to calm the masses via TGTT and facebook. The 3 gents have been invaluable to me in trying to resolves this situation and have invaluable sources of info and were plugged into everything that was happening the whole time through texts and fb and TGTT. also, big thanks to TGTT for giving us homeless wanderers somewhere to lay our heads for a few days, very much appreciated gents thanks. it's been a real difficult few days, firefighting on several fronts, however, as Geo has said, it has allowed us to do a certain amount of future proofing as well as protecting our identity from would-be imposters. a few tempers boiled, but some important fences have also been mended as a result of this, so the plan is to learn from this incident and to feed it back into improving the site and club and making sure this doesnt happen again and that our identity is protected. someone on FB is clearly having a pop at the admin right now, but please bear in mind we have full time jobs, families, bills to pay, things to do, and we get the UKSC stuff done to the best of our ability in our free time. we're not perfect but we are passionate. thanks for hanging in there folks. now, on to bigger and better things for UKSC!
