where can i get a 68 degree thermo
nastyrash 2003 replied to raffa_mk's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
these get to temp very quick , and i know he is using it for a reason of tunning, plus he revs his engine most of the time, hard accel to achive cruise speeds. so i would say put it in and leave it in. i have seen a engine with 180kmiles on it running a cheap air filter with very little wer inside. just depends on engine and system. chris. -

vx dude thy fucking kick ass trust me just like a lotus but very cheap cheap. and to drive thy stick to the road like u would not belive. i want 1 bad. chris aviod the turbo thy mental in the wet. and near anuff impossible to insure as thy kill thr owners after the first week. no joke i can show u everything to do with tunning this motor as this was the last engine i got close and personal with. just finished putting 1 in a corsa C its on craign's build thread just behind the polly engine bushes.

mate, match your new inlet gasket with the inlet ports make sure u do not get any over lap at any point this will create a problem with air flow, and this is looking awsome u will lovethe head thy do av a nice kick. chris u can remove the cam follower and just file or tip the valve head to increase cam follower clearence, as the followers are not hyd saves pennys on shims.
-
cheers bro. luk is the libary wen it coms to this stuff. the second port will kill hp right from the off. the turbulance it creates just before the valve head is crazy.
-
its strange have found these 2 different heads on N/A and Vs and GTs, but do not know the history of the cars and engines and heads may have been swapped, but thr is defo 2 different heads out thr. chris
-
the 1s with the nasty port throt edges seem to be the heads that have the extra water jacket on the inlet mani and gasket. this will reduce hp by quite a bit, i can put pics up as i have 1 here that im porting and polishing now. chris
-
lov it mate, a WON system is the best in my opinion i have seen som cheap shitty nossels which av a bad spray pattern and do not get me started on som selonoids. buy a big bottle of the stuff put it in your garage and fill up at your will 2x 25lbs bottles and a perge kit i would'nt use anything less. chris.

yep i have found differences with the cylinder heads also the earlyer 4efte have very nasty edges in all ports wer the cutting tool cuts the ruf cast to insert the valve seat, wer as the later 4efte has ner anuff no edge but the same valve seat and size plus the coolant jackets around the exhaust valves seem to be larger on the early 4efte head. chris
-
the head u got is 1 of my stage 2 heads mate. The difference is bigger inlet ports match to the best flow for the valve size and valve guilds removed wer thy com out into the inlet ports the valve seats are also opened out by about .7mm to thr sealing edge. tryed to pm u back but it will not let me for som reason. chris
-
me to i would help out sparky got a few pistons and engine bits if u let me know wat u need can donate a head gasket thw only standard. if u going rwd do a ultra light mid mount, i helped raced a VX for a while and it was amazzing. and my god parts wer cheap. chris keep it mate she has your name all over it, well wanted to pitch my corrola against the gt.

UKSC Monster Motosport Rolling road day 2011
nastyrash 2003 replied to Steve GT's topic in Midlands Region
now look at raffas torque graph and note that at egzact the same point the fueling does a sign wave 3.75k rpm the torque sufers bad (thw still much better thn the standard and maintaining peak for longer thn the roller mani). look as the fueling starts to go mega rich around 6k the torque picks right back up. i can smooth this line out to near anuff a smooth curve connecting 3.7k - 6k with a much improved curve. hopfully helping to give a little more at peak also. thr are other problems at work here also like heat. the air charge is to lean for me starting off, this will add lots of heat to th -
need to see thm mate as i think urs out proformed raffas low down and thn hit the problem thn the wall. chris wer your old 1s on here which page.

6 speed gearbox on a starlet
nastyrash 2003 replied to raffa_mk's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
the N/A box has a smaller final drive ratio i think and the 6 speed has the same final ratio as the turbo 5 speed box, so under that guess i would say u will see a better top speed and a nice change over from low speeds through to top end. luke will tell me if im wrong about the N/A final drive. chris
