STOLEN AUDI S3 NAVY BLUE FROM SURREY SOUTH EAST
Idrees replied to G9 ONK's topic in Lifestyle General
Have you posted this on Audi-sport? Sorry to hear this! -
Cheers guys, I really appreciate all the awesome comments! Some good news, and a little text update.. She is booked in for a photoshoot in the next few weeks, she is going to be featured in Japanese Performance magazine. One of their staff approched us at Japfest2 and offered a feature, the car was very far from finished then so we told him we'd get in touch when the cars near completion, which it now is. So when I contacted them last week they got back to me very quickly and booked a date for a photoshoot. I was going to keep this quiet that's why I didn't mention it above, but I couldn't hold it in any longer! With that sorted, I had to add so many things to the Glanza's to-do' list, the following have been ticked off: Whiteline rear panhard rod fitted Celica 274mm brake set up fitted - I'm paranoid to drive it now though as the wheel nuts don't have much turn on them, so I've ordered some longer wheel studs. The front wheels now have even more poke as they are out another 5mm. Rear bumper meshed (half complete job, finishing off tomorrow) HKS SSQV purchased, reducer ordered so need that to arrive before fitting it Purchased/fitted chrome oil cap I've also ordered a connection for the Tial wastegate so I can finally connect the vac hoses, purchased an Emanage Blue from a friend of Rob Fisher, and a 3 bar map sensor from Daz. I'll set about fitting the ECU next weekend as long as it arrives on time, and I'm also currently speaking to Nick @ Tuning Developments regarding mapping! The next few weeks should be interesting, and I need to spend a lot more time in the garage (which is difficult while studying an Engineering degree) so I'll probably cut down my visits to the gym and boxing sessions in order to have the car all done. Other things still to do include: Make a custom centre console Sandblast/powder coat Whiteline rear ARB and purchase new shiny bolts, then fit it Fit new Sony front speakers, and JBL rear 6x9" (as the current sound quality is absolutely terrible) Book in new OEM windscreen seal to be fitted Order hoses for cam cover>catch can Tidy injector wires

Only had it a day so can't comment on what it's like as a daily just yet. It will probably last longer than your Fiesta Matt, just a bit! Amjad maybe that was a 210bhp S3. Mine was a 225 remapped to aroun 260bhp and it was immense to be fair. Super comfy but surprisingly quick. Even in the wet the brakes and handling were great (new T1Rs which aren't usually good in the wet). I haven't had a change to give this full beans just yet, obviously it's a complete different drive to the S3 because it's a NA. IT has variable valve timing too, so you have to rev the shit out of it to make it move (just like a Honda).

He must have pissed him off very badly. In Pakistan people overtake others without a care, some cars have a guard who hang a gun out of the window then nobody dares overtake them.

It's filthy, that pic hide the dirt though! This doesn't even come close to my S3 tbf, one guy on the Clio owners club said he had 2 Glanzas, an Audi S3, Nissan 200sx and a few others - and he says his Clio is better than all of them. no chance. They do seem a great bunch though.

Haha, I don't think you'd ever get it right as I always end up with the most random cars!
-
Yes I believe so

My Troublesome Turbocharged Terror

Sweet, interior looks so tidy now. I've got a set of Celica brakes which perform very well and are cheap. -
Yes Clio Sport 197, sorry mate already have two Glanzas and don't fancy another! Forgot to mention it has a years Renault warranty on it too.
-
Probably 2 weeks or so mate! You know what I'm like, I don't buy cars to keep. Just to 'try' Amjad the funny thing is I am painting my Silver Glanza this colour as I decided a few weeks ago. Quite ironic I ended up with one in this colour too!
-
Had plenty of vags in the last 4 months! Yes it's french and yes it's a bloody Clio! Excuse the dirt. Can't be arsed washing it yet.
-
It's not a Honda, but I've had 2 Civics before and a CRX so already been to the dark side! Not a Ford either, although I did almost buy a 2003 Mondeo ST220.
-
Come on lads! The BMW would be a 2 door, and the RX-8 a 4 door!
-
.. my new daily driver? It'll probably last me a month or so just like the others, haha! It's a 2008 58 reg, 3 doors, 2.0 N/A. That's all the clues I'm giving!

Switching the belts didn't work buddy. I must have had the wrong pulley on it then, here's the one I removed off the car. This side is the smaller side and faces the crank: On this picture, the 'key hole' is on the upper side (the smaller pulley side) - this side facing the crank This bigger side facing away from the pulley, it's impossible to fit it with this facing the crank due to the design of it. Another picture of the side that faces the crank: If it looks like a weird pulley, maybe it had been replaced some time in the past and isn't a factory fitted Starlet one!
-
Indeed. Here's the best pic I managed to get, excuse the filth. If you look very carefully on this OEM pulley, you can see the outer side is bigger:
-
I thought I had it on the wrong way too, but the notch that fits on the crank was on the inner side as its supposed to be?
-
Right, the Oem main pulley has a bigger side for the PS pump and a smaller side for the alternator. The CJ pulleys are the opposite way around, hence the original belts being the wrong length. It fits fine and works perfectly well, I just needed new belts. If the other CJ pulleys (alternator, water pump, ps pump) are exactly the same size as the originals, then those using the full set of pulleys will also need new belts. If those pulleys are a slightly different size to make up for the difference then you should be able to reuse the original belts. New belts only cost me £10 so no biggy, but it was just inconvenient due to my timing. James they can't have been to 100% Oem spec I'm sure. I could show you a picture to compare. by the way don't take this as a dig or anything, the product looks awesome to be fair. You can even see mine through the drivers side wheel

Came back to my car to find this stuck to the window

This is going to look different to others I can assure you A little update.. I gave her an oil & filter change then ended up removing the Air con while I was at it. Replacing this: With this: I still need to change the spark plugs as I don't know when they were last replaced! AC out: The radiator was refilled with fresh coolant and fitted with a set of blue Samco hoses and Roose Motorsport turbo water hoses. No pics of them though. Then finally... She got moved to her new home. Its not huge but there's enough space to work on the car and I'm hoping it's a little warmer than my garage at home.
