  1. I'm looking in to this myself too, have you got it made yet? If so, what backbox did you go for in the end? Cheers
  2. Yes I agree with David, a bit too quite imo. I upgraded to Blitz NUR spec, and it was a hell of an upgrade! :surrender:
  3. The Buddyclub is probably the loudest on the market, and yes it would be sick loud! There are a few videos on Youtube iirc.
  4. You'll want to remove the bumper, or try and get behind it mate. When I was messing with mine the bumper off the car so it was easy, not sure how possible it is with the bumper attached to be honest.
  5. Yeah I say Autobahn too, I wouldn't touch it. It has been for sale on eBay for ages now!
  6. Maybe the water pump leaked the water out somehow? Is the water pump sealed properly?
  7. The only EBC pads I would buy again are the Green Stuff. They worked excellent on one of my Glanzas with 3G brake discs. On the other hand, I had Yellow Stuff pads and they were awful. I have never tried the Red Stuff but I've heard the Green stuff are better? I would also recommend Mintex Extreme pads, I had them with 3G discs too and they gave a nice solid pedal feel.
  8. Sounds like you've burst a shock absorber, a single replacement shouldn't cost too much. You won't need to change the spring of the top mount if this is the case. Try www.camskill.com
  9. I would strongly recommend purchasing a set of MeisterR coilovers for your Starlet. I've sat in a lot of Starlets, and have owned 8 myself, and have tried out lots of suspension. The MeisterRs have definitely done it for me, they offer superb handling coupled with a very nice ride. You will find a lot of coilovers are way too stiff to use on the road, and can even be dangerous when cornering fast. I will definitely be buying a set of MeisterRs for my next project. :surrender:
  10. It sounds like they have left something loose if the steering wheel has automatically gone off centre. As for the creaking, I think it's the top mount on the suspension - going from personal experience and I have read about others with the same problem and cure.
  11. As above, it is the same and will fit with no problems or modifications required.
  12. You may find that those universal wheel spacers could be quite dangerous and can cause problems at high speed. This is because the centre bore of the wheel is not lining up with the centre of the hub, so there is room for play in it. And these will also limit how many turns you get on the wheel nuts, because you won't have enough thread on the studs to use. Unless you are using 5mm ones, I would recommend paying the extra money for the hubcentric wheel spacers and having peace of mind when blasting down the motorway at 140mph ( :surrender: who said that!?)
  13. They are 15" wheels Anup. This is the way it works. Obviously you are measuring the wheel from lip to lip, but the hole in the tyre is not this size. Obviously it has a wall around it, which goes at the back of the wheel to seal it etc. The hole is 15" therefore being a 15" tyre, and where your wheel will meet this hole is also 15" - on the inner side of the wheel on the actual dish, not the lip. Hope that clears things up for you mate.
  14. Sham was running these on his old GT. I guess it could help the car with traction, but the wheels were not as wide as the tyre to the tyre walls looked quite chubby. If you get a set of wider rims, they would look cool. The 205's may catch the rear arches too. Theres bound to be someone running these with 16" wheels so hopefully they'll give a better response. Unfortunately I've had 195s on all my 16s!
  15. Hi guys, I am asking this question about something happened in the past. Basically, here is the story; 1) We fitted a brand new Exedy paddle clutch, car made 219hp. 2) 2/3 weeks later I am cruising slowly, car pops out of 2nd gear - 2nd gear no longer exists. 3) Took off the gearbox and clutch, the clutch is a shambles. The springs and centre splines were rattling like mad. 4) Binned the clutch, fitted a brand new one and a new fully rebuilt gearbox. Now I urgently need a gearbox and I still have this one lying around, it has only covered 62k miles. What are the chances of the box being a
  16. As above, it should be fine mate. I had a CAP clutch and it gave me problems, my mate has one in his Corolla and his gears started to crunch and damaged his gearbox. :surrender: Many others seem to have given good feedback on them though.
  17. That's a funny one, do you think it came from factory like that then?
  18. Hi mate, Your best bet is to contact a local gearbox specialist. You can probably find one on Google or Yell.com I did this and found one 15 miles away. I bought all the gear syncros from Toyota, which cost me around £120 and the labour worked out to around £150. You can buy the second syncro for around £20-30 as far as I remember. Contact Toyota with your chassis number and they should sort them out for you, if that fails then check out the part number section. Good luck mate. :surrender:
  19. That'd be a start! Tyre shine as well please!!
  20. Nice, I might ask him to see if he can supply me with products. :surrender:

    Bad Run Off Luck

Ahh I've been driving my daily non turbo Starlet for 2 months now, touch wood it hasn't missed a beat. Not the same with a Turbo usually though!
  23. Nahh I listen to Galaxy myself, but that sounds pretty good! I did it in college once, we had a nasty nick name for a teacher and he knew it, and I got double dared to put that in my final essay. So me being me, thought why not? I got called to his office and tried my best to hold my tears of laughter in, and got off with it.
