nope! Had silver rims, think all the paint was matching... Guy driving was deffinately having some fun lol! I'd deffinately do a compression test mate. If the compression is fine all round, it's not using A LOT of oil or water but smokes, I'd try the turbo... My engine has problems atm, same kinda thing really but compression in my 1st cylinder is less than half... I think it's the head gasket but could be a bent valve or cracked piston or ring... I won't know till it's in bits! Good luck mate. Do a compression test!!

However I'm still waiting for either a garage or an insurance company to send one of their "agents" around or a letter to tell me to give them their car back lol.... I don't fancy it to be honest, so I'm going to contact the officer in charge again to see if it's still classed as handling stolen goods if I sell the car.... If not, I'm seriously considering selling it as a standard car and buying another GT WITHOUT the history lol.

hahaha! This made me giggle ;) You're absolutely right mate. However today I received a phone call! Not from the guy that pulled me over, but from the chap who was officially in charge of the case lol. I have to start by saying I was very happy with the level of interest and friendly approach that he gave me and the situation. It was quite a lenghthy phone call but I told him everything I know, when I bought the car, what documents I have, what I know about the previous owners and what they had told me, adresses and phone numbers, where it's been and came from blahdy blah, to which he was extremely suprised to how much information I had gathered considering he had practically fuck all (oh yeah! I'm good, you know it, detective inspector Adem). He has taken the "stolen marker" off the car so that I won't get pulled over any more. He is also keeping all of my information and details confidential and also isn't informing the people who placed the report about me or my details. He said that as far as he is concerned, the car is mine and as I have all the paper work, a receipt and the fact the car has been through numerous people, through the DVLA numerous times etc etc, in a court case I should win hands down. He said the only people that might contact me on the matter now are the people that claim to own it, and in which case the most they can do it take me to court, which I won't worry too much about because they should be taking the guy that stole the car to court, not me lol... I bought it legally and fairly. They need to resolve it with the criminal.... The officer in charge also gave me all his contact details just incase I need to contact him ;) so personally, I have to say a good service from the Police on behalf of this one chap! So long story short. I shouldn't worry about the situation. The most that will happen is I get taken to court by the garage that it was stolen from and I'll tell them to fuck off and get their money from the guy who sold it lol! WOOP!

What a mess Idrees. Nothing adds up in this. Trying to just not think about it now lol... Bobby bullshit never rang me :/. I'm going to give it a couple of days and give the station a ring again to remind them to get him to call me. I've been speaking to Tat who once owned the car and funny enough, he bought it off someone who worked at a car parts garage (fits the criteria). Tat also had to send off for a new log book as the guy he bought it off "lost it".... But, how the fuck did Tat manage to get a new log book if the car is stolen? He also said he did a HPI check and it was clean. And on top of all this, the car was reported stolen in 2009... 15 months ago lol. Tat had it in april 2010, the guy after him had it 3 months and now I've had it 3 months... How can it swap so many hands and not be caught if it's stolen?.... If it's recovered I'm going to raise hell in court, aimed at the DVLA and the police for being so shit. There are so many holes in the whole situation! I also have the details of the guy Tat bought the car off... He fits the criteria that the police have told me about, but judging on where he lives and the time he sold the car.... seems unlikely to be him that stole it.... Never the less I don't fancy ringing him to ask about it considering he may be the one that stole it lol. Could be an awkward phone call!

Well I've rang around today and finally got through to a section of the police phonelines that could help. The officer that pulled me over is going to ring me tonight when he starts work (10ish) and I'm going to ask him all the questions that I have logged up in my head! The guy on the phone said whatever I do, don't break the car, or sell the car what so ever shape or form or I can be done for handling stolen goods. He also said that if I carry on to drive it and get pulled by someone that's a "bit harsher" like a traffic officer, then they might just take my car from me there and then even if I am innocent and legal... I will find out more when he rings hopfully! Also took the decat and other bits and bobs off today.... She looks shitty with the old bonnet back on ;)

WOOP! Don't know how I've missed this tread for so long lol.

A little update on ideas... Apparently the original HPI check before I bought the car was clean. Which means they were wrong. This could mean that the original stolen case has been sorted and there was a mix up with the 2nd report on the 1st of november, or the HPI check was wrong in which case they SHOULD pay the insurance out so that I keep the car if it comes to that, for supplying false information about the car.... Apparently they're really good with "making up for their mistakes"....... Another thing. I was talking to my mate this morning who's mother is a police officer and she finds it extremely shocking that if the car is stolen, it managed to go through the DVLA and they sent me a NEW log book of a stolen car. She said they should have got it there and then. Also doesn't make sense that so many other people have had it also and not "been caught" Just trying to figure out why the 2nd report on the 1st of Nov was placed.... Going to the police station later with ID and proof of ownership etc to see if they will tell me anything but I doubt it. Before I go, decat and coilovers are coming off first lol! I'd feel horrible if I stripped it, cut the shell up and fucked it all off if nothing came of it And then I'd hate all of you lol! If it gets taken I won't give up without a fight... Like someone said above, with proof of ownership and a receipt from the previous owner, they got their money back... I have everything to say it's mine and where and when I bought it.... Just tried it mate, it shows that he exists but wants me to pay £150 to see all the details... Also strangely his real last name is different to the one on the log book..... Says one thing on the log book and something very similar but different on the receipt I made him sign... The name on the receipt is the one I can find online. The other has no record anywhere. Anyone know another site or program I can use to get his number for free? Tried searching FB and google etc. No luck... Thanks for all the advice too. But I think if I hide it and avoide the police, strip it and say I only have the shell, I'm only going to get in trouble.... It's on record that they pulled me over and explained why they had pulled me over... So they know the car is in working order because I was driving it lol. So I'm only stripping what I can, with the car to be left in working order.

Right I've taken a bunch of stuff out of it. Tomorrow I'm taking the coilovers off and putting standard suspension on (sorry Steve, if it gets taken I'll pay for it). Taking the decat off, the filter relocation off, loads of other bits and bobs that wont be too obvious. Also I've just done a HPI check myself and suprise suprise... Stolen This registration was recorded stolen on the Police National Computer on 1 Nov 2009 by Hampshire Constabulary. So I don't know what happened with Matt's check or if the original report wasn't there... I don't understand why there was a 2nd stolen report 3 days after I bought it... I need to get in touch with the guy I bought it off... Anyone know anyway of finding someone's phone number on the internet if I have their address?

Oh my lol!... Well I've already started stripping, I've taken all of the back out, the ECU off and bits and bobs like gear knob, CD player etc etc... The guy I bought it from was some lad in Walsall. His mum was the registered keeper... Yes someone called Tat owned the car on here before me... I'm sure he probably knows something about it tbh. They said that it was reported stolen a long time ago but a 2nd report was filed on the 1st of november which is literally 3 days after I bought the car!?.... I personally didn't do a HPI check however my mate Matt (Socks) did one and said that the car was clean..... If the garage didn't claim and they still own it, it's going to be taken off me because obviously they'll want it back... If they DID claim and the insurance own it, it's going to be taken off me because they'll want it..... Is there a win in this situation what so ever? Without paying the insurance company or the garage... I don't see how this is going to work fair what so ever, considering I have modified the car and fixed it up from a poor condition??
