You need to remove the crank pulley, then remove the main caps in sequence.

Unfortunately there is no uprated oil pump for the E series engine, there is a Toga "high flow" oil pump, but its been proved that it is exactly the same as an OEM Toyota unit, the rotor inside is exactly the same in thickness and diameter, all Toga did was scratch out the Toyota casting. More than welcome to design your own though

Ta mate, certainly not as sexy as the one I want though! -
That will be fine to use, I prefer Motul myself though, has one of the highest boiling points going and it's only classed as a Dot 4 http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-894-motul-rbf-600-factory-line-racing-brake-fluid.aspx

I've got the chance to buy some HRF rear spats for an EP82, but does anyone know the difference between them and the Tom's spats? I've looked at some pics of the HRF demo car and of the Tom's spats but I can't see any noticeable differences in the shape or lines. Thanks Adam

Any interest ? -
Headgasket & seals gone, just valve springs left at £220!
-
Keep the FPR. They are a good tuning tool and allow the tuner to maximise your fueling system.

Anytime pal

Fuel flow (cc per min) - (330hp * 5.6) / 4 = 462cc Injector Static Flow - (462 * 100) / (1 * 92 ) = 502cc Plenty of room for more horsepower!
-
That not because they use plastic rather than metal for the internals? So they change to the N1 oil pump. I might well be thinking of another engine though lol.

RIP. It's one of those events that you remember where you was and what you was doing, that will stay with you for life.

You can use any td04 you want but you'll have to get the correct flange on the manifold to suit. John over on TGTT uses one from a Volvo
-
It will spool it faster due to being larger capacity, but it will also run out of puff sooner. The max reliable power from a stock td04 is around the 280bhp mark, with cams, inlet you can get this up but takes away low speed driveability.
-
Depends what you mean by difference? If you have or can get hold of a 5E then its worth it, if not don't waste time searching for one and just build a 4E. The VF22 is the largest in the VF series range and supports upto around the 400bhp mark so you can expect it to be a bit laggy.

There is no upgraded oil pump for the E series engine. Besides the boost pressure its running makes no difference.
-
Have heard about some problems with the release baerings on these of late. Best bet is to ask Mike.

Wheres the best place to get engine refurbed/forged?!!!

I thought I knew it from somewhere! Didn't even know Ted had sold it. Shame.

You should be fine on 550's, run an adjustable fuel pressure regulator as well.

The more important factor is the fuel your going to be using and the engine management system. I for one certainly wouldn't want to be running anything above 8.5:1 on a piggyback. Invest heavily in your engine management system is the best advice I will give for now. High compression engines are far superior to low compression engines, better fuel economy, better off boost driveability, more power, more torque.
