  1. Apparently when looking through where the shafts go in if there is a "spider gear" then it is an open diff and if there isn't then it's a limited slip diff. Is that right or wrong?
  2. It's probably not an LSD guy on tgtt said this is why
  3. Awesome, bought the box off a kinda dodgy guy so I was quite worried and only gave him half the money for it until it's on and I know it's a good box. Anyway it was only a 10 mile drive to pick the box up and I have only gave him £50 just now so even if it is fucked I will keep it for the LSD, happy days
  4. I have encountered a few problems while doing a manual conversion on my 1995 GT. If anyone can answer or help out with any of the following questions then I would be very grateful. Question 1 - How do you get the gear linkages through the bulkhead, the hole is way to small and twisted and there seems to be a triple skin into the cabin? Question 2 - What holds the selector cables onto the box to let them push the arms in and out? I am missing these off my box I have put a wanted thread up but pictures of these brackets would help too. Question 3 - Not really a problem but now that the manual
  5. As above need this if such a thing exists, there must be something that holds the cables on. Does anyone have any pictures?
  6. whats the best way to check it, hold it against a window?
  7. hmmm may just get some of that dirko stuff off ebay
  8. mine came apart no bother at all without heat, I just put it in the vice and kept tapping it with a copper mallet
  9. closest halfords is around 70 miles away. Yeah can go to motor factors but they don't have a clue and are totally useless plus there 17 miles away so need to know what product(s) i'm looking and that are suitable for before I go.
  10. Not overly difficult to change to manual tbh I'm halfway there with little complication.
  11. surely it will come off if I pry at it with a crowbar or hit it with a bit of wood and hammer to spread weight? I can't wait days for halfords to deliver, I need the car back on the road no later than tue.
  12. Looking for a sealant to redo my sump but need it here quick so looking for next day delivery would this sealant from toolstation have work ok? It says its oil resistant but is it flexible and suitable for the sump, anyone used it?
  13. The sensor is fine it's the connector that is broke
  14. Ok thanks very much. This has never worked since I bought the car so not a big issue although I may aswell repair it now the engine is out. I was thinking of screwing a big bit of connector block over the sensor then cutting the plug off the connector, stripping the wire and putting it in the other side of the connector block as a fix. Bit pikey but only thing I can think of.
  15. The one for the light on the dash?
  16. What is the sensor that sits in behind the manifold near the right had side of the engine. It's near to the slave cylinder on the gearbox it's a kind of bar with a ball on the end and the plug just pushes onto it. Need to know as I broke the connector off it when removing it and need to figure out a way of fixing it.
  17. Done now came out the top no bother at all. Someone on tgtt said only thing I would need to remove was downpipe but never bothered and it came out just fine.
  18. I know it is possible to lift the engine and box out in a one (up the way) on a manual but is it possible with the autobox? Also the manifold and turbo + downpipe is still on the car.
  19. Can get these last bolts from gt bitz for £40 delivered, quite steep but really need them so buying them tomorrow unless anyone has got them cheaper.....
  20. Yeah seen that earlier, bit pricey though for bolts (£25 just for gearbox to engine ones) could probably get them off toyota new for that or even cheaper. Will pay it if I have to though
  21. Which of the following would be the bolts for bolting the gearbox to the engine? 1. BOLT, W/WASHER(FOR TRANSMISSION CASE COVER) EP85..5F; EP82..5F..TBO QTY - 9 2. BOLT(FOR TRANSAXLE CASE & TRANSMISSION CASE SETTING) EP85..5F; EP82..5F..TBO, *8-1.25 PX51 - 28 QTY - 13 EP85..5F; EP82..5F..TBO, *8-1.25 PX45 – 27.5 QTY - 3 3.
