  1. wrong side of the engine to be gearbox oil seal mate. Will find out for sure when the engine is out though as I will be changing all 3 belts anyway. Heard of a proper pikey way to change timing belt but it may be easier than I thought. Cut the old belt in half or smaller (width wise) then take the tension off a little bit and slip the new belt over so it gets a grip then cut the old belt completely and pull it off. No need for checking timing marks etc
  2. Been searching for a thread about this but can't find any. What viscosity of gearbox oil should be used in a gt gearbox and also how many litres will I need? Also any recommendations on brands would be good aswell. Thanks in advance.
  3. any guides to check/change the oil pump?
  4. Yeah think that's what I'm going to do mate. What would I need to take off to get them out together? Was thinking bonnet to make it easier, rad, obviously all hoses pipes and wires off, strut brace.....
  5. That's something else that I could do with is the torque settings for any bolts that will be removed in the conversion such as flywheel, pressure plate........etc if anyone has them please?
  6. Not sure if this is a repost or not but came across it on youtube, pretty awesome wouldn't mind owning any of the 2 of them. [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAfqp0TRX1k
  7. While it is all off, I think I will just fire some on for piece of mind although as you say it will most probably be fine without. Won't be an engine builder doing it, just a local machine shop but should be fine if I just get the to take a skim off the face?
  8. I am going to be changing from auto to manual within the next month hopefully and am trying to get all the parts together for it. I would like to know if the common loctite 243 will do the job for the pressure plate and gearbox bolts and also if the small 3ml tube will do or if I will need a 50ml bottle? Also I will be getting the flywheel that is coming machined as I have a new clutch but was wondering how much material I could get taken off before it becomes to thin and heats up too quickly and if it is possible to lighten the standard item at all and if so how?
  9. Anyone got any views or info on the excedy stage 2 3 puk paddle clutch?
  10. Check the level on the dipstick and see how full it is.
  11. Yes too much oil in would be causing high pressure and coming out the breather. Is there any chance you may have spilled a small amount of oil?
  12. my depo one needs to have the bung welded in 36 inches from the exhaust port (at a minimum) I would not put it in the downpipe that is far too close
  13. If its been welded up for external use why does it still have an actuator on it?
  14. I have seen people make gauge holders out of coke cans
  15. I have a depo. Ended up just cutting and soldering wires back together. Cheers anyway
  16. As above how did you get the plug for the wideband into the car through the bulkhead?
  17. not sure, will check later what is your psn name?
  18. Unfortunately this now seems to have re-appeared it is mainly covering the boot for the steering rack, lower control arm and driveshaft with oil. Will be changing to a manual box at some point soon so may be a good idea to check it out then.
  19. Will these seals and gasket fit? I think there for a 4efe but should fit an fte? Have a nicely painted rocker cover ready to fit but the rubber gasket around it has 2 small nicks out of the rubber where it can flap back a bit if you pull it, apart from that it is perfect maybe it would still do?
  20. I have number 12 and 16 on the list. Couldn't part with 16 but I may manage to give up 12 haha.
  21. I made my own adjustable panhard rod for under £30 and it works perfectly.
