Been searching for a thread about this but can't find any. What viscosity of gearbox oil should be used in a gt gearbox and also how many litres will I need? Also any recommendations on brands would be good aswell. Thanks in advance.
Yeah think that's what I'm going to do mate. What would I need to take off to get them out together? Was thinking bonnet to make it easier, rad, obviously all hoses pipes and wires off, strut brace.....
That's something else that I could do with is the torque settings for any bolts that will be removed in the conversion such as flywheel, pressure plate........etc if anyone has them please?
Not sure if this is a repost or not but came across it on youtube, pretty awesome wouldn't mind owning any of the 2 of them. [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAfqp0TRX1k
While it is all off, I think I will just fire some on for piece of mind although as you say it will most probably be fine without. Won't be an engine builder doing it, just a local machine shop but should be fine if I just get the to take a skim off the face?
I am going to be changing from auto to manual within the next month hopefully and am trying to get all the parts together for it. I would like to know if the common loctite 243 will do the job for the pressure plate and gearbox bolts and also if the small 3ml tube will do or if I will need a 50ml bottle? Also I will be getting the flywheel that is coming machined as I have a new clutch but was wondering how much material I could get taken off before it becomes to thin and heats up too quickly and if it is possible to lighten the standard item at all and if so how?
Unfortunately this now seems to have re-appeared it is mainly covering the boot for the steering rack, lower control arm and driveshaft with oil. Will be changing to a manual box at some point soon so may be a good idea to check it out then.
Will these seals and gasket fit? I think there for a 4efe but should fit an fte? Have a nicely painted rocker cover ready to fit but the rubber gasket around it has 2 small nicks out of the rubber where it can flap back a bit if you pull it, apart from that it is perfect maybe it would still do?
I have an uprated mani, could do with a quick weld before it is put back on and also have a forge adjustable actuator. Would do the both of them for around £100 delivered? Also have a hybrid CT9 and a braced decat that is very strong for sale.
actuator also has bracket for ct9 and all bolts/clips to fit it.
