would love to have a unit but cant afford it on my own, one mate would prob go in with me but still not enough

its the cost of the gearbox and then fitting......... all adds up shes wanted to buy mine for a while so this has just made her go ' im not splashing out on it, scrap or sell so i can have yours ' but no it shouldn't cost someone alot with the right knowledge and space to fix it, im almost sure its a dodgy fitted clutch but she wont pay for anyone for refit the clutch cost almost £300 to have it done last time :/ but then i don't know any mechanics who offer discount lol james

Be to fair they are reliable, 85-88K miles and no problems til now without this gearbox ( most likely clutch ) problem it would go on for many many miles more I've seen lupos with 150k + James

come buy this fix it up and then slam it for her glasgow is a fair distance from me unfortunately hiring someone to pick it up isn't cheap either james

Socks I hate them to, it's been a perfect first car for her and has had no problems at all til now, it's completely standard and untouched price is not set at £700 just a stating point Weighing it in is an option but it's worth more in parts and she wants to buy my ignis so I can become a starleteer again ;) James

Emb - e manage blue Emu - e manage ultimate The ultimate has launch control and other feature which are better suited for higher power cars I beleave don't hold me to that as I'm not 100% sure! Have you got a standard ecu? They are cheap enough to pick up, But yes send it to TD without the jam ....... It's going to need trailering there anyways I suppose as the engine has gone so doesn't need an ecu I'm sure mike from TD has a few lying around from his breakers James

Think about it mate, if you swap your end up being at a loss :-/ - jams sell for £500 all day long - mapping cost around £250 not Inc fitting - second hand always comes with worrys ( does it work? ) - tuning developments will over warrenty on there brand new units - most people who sell emb have upgraded to emu so won't want to sell the harness your have to find that ( or have certain parts missing ) which is all availibale to buy new Tbh mate in my opinion I'd find the extra £50 and get Brand new and if your having the engine rebuilt anyway you have time to sell the jam as you won't need it James
