  5. Many thanks folks. I've emailed a few breakers gauging interest.and quite surprised at the price you can pick up an N/A engine for. Really i need another year of the sr being a good runner then i can look into boosting it or getting a glanza
  6. Hmm, think ima get a new engine then. Am i okay to run it for a while longer if i keep on top of topping up the oil?
  7. Hmmm, im handy enough with a spanner and willing to dive in and have ago myself, might see if i can find a corolla haynes manual with the 4e-fe as a bit of guidance. Ill start looking at prices for stuff, if it starts getting too expensive ill just take her off the road for a while and turbo it
  8. I see, is it a fairly easy/cheap fix? Not trying to sound tight, just planning a future for my little baby
  9. Is that basically just the rings or a specific bit? Need to learn more about engines
  10. Smoking ciggarette? A piece of paper? A Really hot thing? Whatever its like, i topped up my 4e-fe from near enough to min to the max marker and within about 4-5 days its dropped over a quarter already My misses says its quite smokey and smells when she followed me earlier and I've noticed tiny black specs all over the back. I did run some Injector Cleaner through a full tank about 2 weeks ago and noticed the black specs a few days later, coincidence? That burning oil smell you get when giving it some beans seems to be alot stronger recently aswell I have also noticed it sort of having a
  11. Well, exciting stuff since my last post, mainly involving money, smiles and curse words. As i said in my previous post i got my self some Tein lowering springs. Then i decided to give my wheels a tasty green lip in some sort of rover green, which was the closest to the green on the SR sticker. Then on my way to japfest my bottom crank pulley sheared the bolt off, i didnt realise for another 30 or so miles till i slowed for a roundabout and heard a loud bang which was the pulley hitting the underside. So that was a sad finish for the let and a 100-odd quid recovery bill to get home So i
  12. Awesome bud! was it much hassle to fit that engine would you say?
  13. Youd never catch me paying 5k for a golf! Yeah i agree its a bit pricey, but they gotta make there money somewhere. i bet theyd take £2,500 My sr was traded into the dealer i work for but i wasnt allowd to buy it straight up, it went to the auction and i had to send someone i kno in to bid on it, and he was the only one who bid so i walked away with £600 sr

  15. Does anyone know the new laws on numberplates? I recently heard that square plates on uk cars are now illegal?
  16. I have a logitech g25 steering wheel, pedals and shifter. Got it with a second hand gamepod thingy. Was sat in a car showroom and used for a few months, looking to swap for a xbox 360 compatible wheel.
  17. I remember playing a sticks and stones match on black ops and getting a tomahawk on the leader in the last 10 seconds, he dashboarded it and as he was host it cost me the game and the bet i put down as it was high rollers. needless to say i went and traded it in the next day. Pissy wanky 12 year old try hards...
  18. Yeah I've got it all stripped down and got all new belts.not taken the cambelt off yet, but will do tonight then fingers crossed, that cambelt pulley will just slide off so i can change the woodruff. Thanks for your help morgey, hopefully i can repay the favour sometime!!
  19. Thanks morgey. Good news, i managed to get the remainder of the old bolt out. now i must ask, does the cambelt pully just slide off so that i can change the woodruff key?
  20. Basically, ladies and gentlefish. My car decided it didnt want its bottom pulley anymore, so it kicked the head off the bolt and jumped off leaving the alternator and power steering without any drive. (Totally ruined my japfest journey) I've taken my cambelt cover off to find that some strange looking metal ring has had the shit kicked out of it and the woodruff key appears to have worn away quite abit (any pictures would be helpful of how much woodruff key there should be would be amazing.) Even with the belt cover off the old pulley wont even slot over the end of the woodruff key Im gettin
  21. Well there was an EPIC FAIL for me, i made it 117 out of 136 miles and my power steering/alternator pully decided to shear its bolt and come flying off with a bang thankfully no one was hurt and the car still runs. So so so so so gutted i got that far and didnt make it!! But if anyone has a spare pulley id like to take it off their hands please
  22. I was so unsure as to whether i was coming or not. but now its confirmed. Are you guys meeting in the morning? Im convoying from Peterborough with a couple of cars if any of you wanted to hook uo along the way?
