fuel cut defenders
richardc9052 replied to littlegreenmonster's topic in N/A E-Series Engine Discussions
the map sensor doesnt read boost and even jf it could the n/a ecu wouldnt know what to do with it.. it doesnt have fuel cut though so if you have a fprto continue rising fuel the ecu will just read WOT signal from map sensor.. he removed/unplugged the 02 sensor so the ecu wouldnt try to correct the rich a/f ratio.. Retarded timing helps too.. but really you would want an emanage to control it properly.. With this setup his car was drinking fuel! He has since switched to an ep70 and will be doing the same again, 2 engines. but this time 4efte and more boost. -
Burning smell n smoke.. Please help.
richardc9052 replied to Tepson's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
is it a really bad smell? if it isnt your every day oil burning smell then i would take off the oil filler cap and if the smell gets worse/originates from there, you more than likely have an oil pressure issue (not enough oil reaching the head) and your actually "burning" the cams. This happened to me once when i made a stupid mistake, put an n/a sump on as a quick fix, but was in a rush and forgot the pickup was longer, so crushed it and fried the head. Chunks of my cams where missing.. -

yeah he turbo'd them both! - wasnt overly reliable when abused like this though.. The engines had been turbod for a few months at this stage and got serious abuse, this video, we had to run a 2 meter pipe from the breather to the outside of the car so i didnt get sprayed with oil, engine was in a bad way at this point (just my luck).. I then next run the owner was driving again and the head lifted and covered the inside of the car with oil and ended the day (dont have a vid of that unfortunately) Heres my run: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10201271549778156&l=22580255022226049 -
The diff itself is a direct swap, you need to change the ring gear. Although i have read that it is possible to swap the c160 ring gear and press the pinion gear off and on to the c52. ill have a c160 diff next week so ill throw up some pictures.. hopefully it has the ring gear so we can use it for reference, but i just want the lsd for now ;)

Please put a washer in your oil pressure relieve valve.. It increases oil pressure and should help stop your 5e spinning bearings.. I cringed reading your thread! It would break my heart to spend all that money repeatedly! Project looks awesome though and fair play for sticking to it! -
Reviewed emanage, extremely well wrapped and fast delivery!! Received** damn iPhone autocorrect

Ever seen the twin engine starlet on toyotaownersclub-irl? He had both 4efe's running with RRFPR and lambda sensor removed. Standard map sensors in place.. it drank fuel but my god it was quick! -
Have you ever driven an ae111 BZR? If you havent, it is one of the best driving experiences ive had.. superstrut suspension, 6 speed and lsd. But yes the diffs are awesome
-
Id say so, they just need looking after.. my old ae111 hada bad crunch into 3rd gear unless you double clutched.. most of the damage happens because people dont change the oil.. I personally would just put a c160 diff into a c52
-
Use this to find out what speed you would be doing in each gear at a given rpm. compare both http://www.apexgarage.com/tech/gear_ratios.shtml

walking out a job?? any consequences??
richardc9052 replied to iamlegend's topic in Lifestyle General
You only get one life, its your decision. You wont get a good reference off them in the future, but if you hate it that much and youve got something else 100% guaranteed.. walk. no point being depressed/down over it. -
Epic thread, read it all.. well done!!

Put current key into ignition, turn key and push the pin that you saw in, the barrel should pull out. reverse to replace
