You need to t piece into the bottom boost signal on the wastegate and run a boost controller to the top port, then use the boost controller to achieve whatever boost pressure you want. Mine has a 1 bar spring but I only get 0.8bar, but my top port is open to atmosphere. You need to pre-load the spring using the top port via boost controller. Previous owner probay took it off

buy my arc top mount and i'll include the bolts ;)

yay that's a good result, nice feeling when you sort a problem (i'd still get fueling checked on rollers or wideband)
-
ah right i see, if you have a multimeter, check the power supply for the fcd. can only think that it's been wired in wrong :/
-
like i say mate, whatever setting my fcd was on it showed symptoms of fuel cut (i don't think it was fuel cut from the ecu, it was the afr shooting through the roof).
-
Yeah that was plan b haha. It eventually cracked off though
-
Yeah preferably get it checked on rollers though so you can see what's happening right through the rev range. A reasonable tuners shouldn't charge you too much . The white wire is usually for data logging? (mines an aem so might be different) you can get an adapter to change the voltage output range of the wideband to the range needed by the ecu . Was a nightmare trying to get the bottom bung out of my decat, blow torch and breaker bars and all sorts, nearly snapped the engine mounts it was that tight lol
-
Do you have 2 bungs in your decat or are you running an adapter to the ecu?
-
My afr was waaaay too high (lean). Would say get a wideband on it before you turn up the pressure though because yours might be the opposite. It's a very hard guessing game is fuel pressure unfortunately. Mines not spot on but it's 14 on normal driving and 11-12 on boost , and it pulls fine now with no misfiring or flat spots
-
mine did this, was fuel pressure. i bought a wideband and put that on to set up my fpr properly and it's been fine since

Local scrappy! I got some off a sportif and they didn't even charge me. Not got round to changing them yet mind :/ -
If its a white dc5 and you're going to pay my insurance then it's a deal! Why you after an advance anyways?
-
I'm still in live with it :/ haha. If someone turned up with like £3000 I'd let it go but not really ready to sell it yet, tis a rare beauty

If you're going for a bigger turbo, go front mount. If you're staying ct9, arc or rx7 top mout. I hate having this debate with people, there are pro's and cons for both. I'll be going fmic when I go td04 but until then my arc is worth it's weight in gold.
-
Hmm let the debate begin. "you can't up boost without a front mount." inlet temps may be a bit higher but the lag is 100% less. I've never ever had a problem with heat soak etc. makes me laugh how the big opinions come from people have never even tried an arc top mount lol
-
I have an ARC top mount at 0.8 bar (upping to a bar soon) and its perfect, instant boost. Dont need a fmic if your still running the ct9 IMO. I can rag my car like fuck for however long I want, park up and put my hand on the intercooler and it will be stone cold. one of the best mods I've done to the car ( relocating air filter was a close second).

Ready for japfest 2 you mean?
