yeah that's what i was swayed towards, just wondered what other people would do. i'm not going to bother throwing money at a hybrid setup as any ct9 is going to get boring after a while i think :/ but once the ecu and base map are there then it's just a case of a remap once i go td04 i suppose picking your gasket up on friday mate so i'll be in touch, might pop down over weekend if thats alright and see about these discs and stuff? if sam doesn't want them i'll probably have them off you -

well i haven't updated this in a while. since the last update the following has happened; - got an aem wideband on it's way to me which i will have on the car by the end of the week fingers crossed - toms grill is on the car now, needs a bit of repair work and i'm undecided whether to re-mesh it or leave it open (someone has removed the mesh at some point) - received a wepr oil feed which is the one to match the manifold, it's longer and should be a safer set up than the standard ct9 feed, this will be going on at weekend. - ordering a civic rad on monday when the student loan comes in - got a spare inlet manifold sat in primer now waiting to be painted and swapped, no performance gain just will look a lot prettier, going to smarten up a few bits/tuck some wires while i'm swapping them over. will gets some pics of various bits as and when, pretty excited to get the oil feed, civic rad and wideband on having a few issues with rear wiper motors and such, so technically it's de-wipered but the old motor arm is sticking through lol, looks gash. i'm going to recondition one of my motors and put the wiper back on, i miss being able to see out of the rear window :/ lol also, secured the summer job working pea season so by september i will be debt free and have a fair bit in bank for goodies, so i'm torn between going for a nice td04 setup (not the toyosports i mean wepr or such like), or taking her for an ecu and map. it's got to be one or the other i'm afraid, going to get towards £1000 to do both :/. part of me thinks management because going td04 is a bit of a waste of time without a remap? what would you guys do? suggestions? -
still might be ripe for scrapland! haha not had it actually running yet, bottom end could be buggered or anything. we shall see. if the engine dies the gearbox is going on mine, i've decided haha.

yeah quadlight, bit of damage but still, you be sick if you knew how much i paid for it

I just bought what I thought was a replica toms grill and when it turned up and I looked it was genuine lol

well there are two "types" of screamer. there's a decat/screamer that a fair few people have. personally think these are pretty crap, they tend to blow on idle but the intention is that when the wastegate on the turbo opens it divorces the excess gases from the exhaust allowing them to escape easier/quicker. the screamer i was talking about is the one you would bolt onto an external wastegate, when you reach the spring pressure in the wastegate (in my case 0.8 bar) the wastegate opens, allowing the excess gases (which in your case are causing the overboosting) to escape via the screamer pipe. the screamer pipe is just there to direct the gases under the car, and it's not essential, you can run and external wastegate with no screamer attached and it will still work. my screamer is pretty shit but still sounds awesome. if you run an external wastegate with no screamer it will absolutely stink on full boost as all the excess exhaust gases go into the cabin. carbon monoxide is nay good! lol. this is where everybody will jump down my throat and tell me i'm wrong and that decat/screamers are awesome
-
the wepr power up kit has a shorted decat because the turbo sits a fair bit lower, but tbf i have a jperformance decat mounted to it and have had no issues at all so far. also the wepr decat has a screamer that mounts to the external wastegate, looks awesome haha.

just had a look and found it, was brand new including manifold, decat and oil feeds for £190, right bargain :/
-
i'll have a look now lol...
-
thanks, if only i wasn't a peasant haha, maybe one day
-
someone on tgtt was selling the same mani as mine, you should have a look, it's an awesome manifold!
-
i have those wheels on mine and just out of interest, price on the fuel rail?
-
cool the blitz decats are awesome, i've got a wepr power up externally gated manifold on mine, awesome ct9 set up! just don't buy a toyosports manifold lol.

combination of free flowing exhaust and relocated filter mean you have a better flow of air, which will cause it to creep. the standard actuators are weak (and getting on abit now) so are likely to allow the boost to spike over standard boost. best bet is to get a hks actuator on it, and set it to 0.6 bar for now until you have fueling mods to support higher boost levels.
-
does sound a lot better with a front mount but you can still get the desired effect with a top mount!
-
Yeah wasn't as chattery as i'd hoped but still sounds better than a dump valve imo i have an arc tmic and front mounted air filter.
-
What boost you running? Mines at 0.8 and mine just sounds sort of Like a horse sneezing lol. Still love it though!

So 2pm near the chicken van? I've been in bed since Tuesday with a kidney infection so hopefully will be nice to leave the house!

got them made up at a place called direct gaskets (i think that's what they're called) in Hull. try googling industrial gasket suppliers round your end and see what comes up, you would probably need to take in a current gasket/ make a template of what gasket you want made up. really would recommend it though, especially for custom gaskets. -

yeah if you look at the pick above of the cylinder head with no gakset/manifold on it, you can see where my oem one had been blowing on 1 and 4 on the edges, pretty pants tbh. this new gasket is 3mm thick, to allow for any warp on the flange of the manifold (sam's seems to be ever so slightly warped- stainless toyosports td04 manifold). made a huge difference when i put this one on, couldn't believe it. if you want me to pick you one u and send it in the post let me know -

originally got two made up to start with at a local gasket place, one for me one for sam. because it was the first time one of these gaskets had been run through the computer at the gasket place it cost around £30 for the two, but now could get them at about £10 each i think, they're absolutely spot on, 10000x better than oem gaskets imo thinking of getting some turbo-manifold and turbo-downpipe ones made up too and do the full set -
