Emb is a good set up. Just don't get too big injectors because some ecu's can't retard the fuelling that much. You run the risk of bore wash if injectors are too big.

Cheers johnboy. Yea its defo made a lot of progress. I'll shop around and see what people can offer. Adam it sounds awesome!

Cheers for the link john. I'll get a quote from them and see what they van offer me. Yea not having too much luck with these td04 turbos at the moment Adam. On the upside though it now boosts up mint and goes like a bullet. Hopefully getting it insured this weekend.

That's a decent looking shell. Better condition than mine was. I'm guessing the oil cooler will be fitted to a sandwich plate on the oil filter housing. I'll be keeping an eye on this.

Well I got another turbo from the breakers yard for exchange of the old td04l. Took it to work, stripped and cleaned both housings and rotated them to suit the starlet. Fitted the new turbo and it ran fine. Took it down the road and found to be now boosting 0.6bar. Spot on. Then I left the car idling outside my unit. Came back outside and blue smoke from the exhaust. Not excessive though. Now I know the engine is good ( did another compression test just to be sure ) so that means the turbo seals have gone. So I'm thinking of having it rebuilt. New seals, bearings and thrust plate. Next que

Cheers asad. I searched all over to try and find a pic of the back of the siren. Hopefully have it fully working this afternoon.

I thought crank case pressure would help to dampen the impact from a power stroke. Plus if you want to go all out wouldn't you need the oil returns from the head porting for instance? Or even have the inside of the block polished to allow the oil to return to the sump quicker and allow the crank case pressure to dissipate? Also as two pistons go up two come down so the displacement is next to nothing in the bottom end any way? Obviously I know you will get a small ammount of blow by, raising the crank case pressure slightly.

Hey guys n girls. Does any one on here have a toad ai606 fitted to their cars? If so can some one do me a favour and take a picture of the back of their siren? The three wires have pulled out of my plug and I don't know which order the wires go in. Thanks in advance

And another turbo bites the dust. I should be getting my new (or replacement) turbo tomorrow. Come to think of it my turbo made a small squeal then it stopped. Bit of a give away really.

Just fitted my alarm to the shedlet. Even wired up an optional extra. Now eating burger king with charl (funny onion)

Cheers for the comments. Yea MOT went better than expected. I'll get some pics of the turbo up when I strip it down. Hopefully have the car rebuilt with new (or replacement) turbo on weds.

Well I have some good news and some bad news. Good news the shedlet passed its MOT yesterday. Headlamp aim was out but I said I would sort it while it was still on the ramp. It drove well, gearbox was sound, engine was good also. Now to the bad point. The car refused to boost past 0.2bar. Not good. I got the starlet back to the unit and had a good look around. No boost leaks, clips were tight and the shaft of the turbo spun freely. I decided to remove the turbo from the car. I then checked the turbo and found the shaft on the impeller side has been bent. The impeller blades were fubar

Well went to York dragway today and had a good day. Charl and I took photos and even saw bailey go down the track a few times. Even got some videos and pictures. Bit of a hostile welcome when we tried to introduce ourselves in the pits. Guess we should have said who we were. I'll get some pics up later on when I get in.

Spill the beans H_D!

Nope more expense. We will see if the breakers I got the turbo from will be understanding. If not I only paid 40 for it.
-
Ok so turns out the shaft on my tdo4 is bent. Taking it back to the breakers on Tuesday to see of they will exchange.

firstly not sure if im posting this in the correct section but mods feel free to move it. i have fitted a profec b spec 2 to my starlet td04l set up. when i drive down the road it will not boost past 0.2 bar. i have checked gaskets and none are blowing, ive even removed the boost pipe from the turbo to make sure im getting boost. ive also held my hand over the intercooler piping with the engine running and the engine just about stalls. (proves the intercooler piping has no leaks) so basically i would like to know if anyone has the same boost controller and how they have set theirs up. im us

these are what im looking at for my td04l. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110499568285?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_918wt_1163 -
well ive just rang adrian flux and the best they can do is 750. thing is ive had a quote from greenlight insurance and theirs was 520. how can one insurance company charge an extra 250 for their name. its almost as bad as the names game you get in fashion. if you ask me the person should be insured not the vehicle. what really ticks me off is the fact that some people have got more than one licence. but the car insurance people dont look at it like that.

wish i could've had one of these when i was 16

ohh my god!! it does 45kph! That's slow. I like the way in the spec it doesn't even give a 0-60 time! And that lil Red star, dashboard is optional?! -
