  1. hey all, just a quick update. well while the starlet has been sitting in the lock up it has appeared to have some faults. 1. the passenger door lock wont lock, moves slightly but then doesnt lock. 2. the passenger side driveshaft oil seal has decided to start leaking. (ordered one from toyota today £7.23 plus the victim) 3. the turbo is well and truely goosed. (i know ive mentioned this before, getting one from good old ebay) but on a good note i gave sky insurance a ring. with everything declared on the starlet, my qoute was £542. thats 8000 miles a year, fully comp, parts replaced like
  2. Ask pick1 what boost he is running. I do believe it is about 1.8bar on a standard ct9? I've driven his car and it is really nippy.
  3. UN plug it from underneath the seat. Job done.

    Rear Brakes

How about 2 pot rear calipers with hydralic handbrake? That should work and you won't have to worry about cables seizing up
  5. Whiteline front, rear anti roll bar and panhard rod? Bit of a handling package maybe?
  6. To be honest rob I was going to say do them one valve at a time, saves mixing your hydralic tappets up. Also where possible block up the oil returns to the sump, a bit of rag or something. Saves having to remove the sump if you drop something in the engine.

    Rear Brakes

The rear brakes don't really do a lot. If I can remember correct during my MOT the front brakes had around 340kg of braking effort on each side and the rears barely had 80kg per side. As Micky says you don't want to unsettle the back end too much really.
  8. As grant says its so much quicker and easier than removing the head. And if you think you can just push the valves down when there's compressed air in there then you will be very suprised.
  9. Got a pic rob? Also on the gears of the cams there's two punch marks on one cam and one punch mark on the other. Line them up so they meet and that's your cam timing done. Also I know this is only me but I would still do the compressed air method. Saves disturbing the head and also you don't need to re grind in valves etc. If your planning on getting another engine to forge anyway why bother disturbing it?
  10. Charl got talking to the bloke with the white supra. Its 900bhp but the turbo on it is good for 1500bhp. He was waiting for a bigger fuel pump or something before he tries to crack 1200bhp some time this week.
  11. yea was going to say who's was the white impreza? looked nice and i didnt really get chance to look at your glanza. i was suffering too.
  12. it was a very quiet show compared to last year. wasnt there something on at pod though? maybe that drew the crowds away.
  13. as requested. and some other stuff that was there. i was majorly sunburnt and if i stayed out much longer i would have probably suffered alot worse. hence why so few piccies.
  14. There was three white glanza's at rising sun. One was Michael! One was liamD And the other was bearfaceofdoom.
  15. Does the a50 have a central locking out put? If so it may be similar to the ai606. I've just fitted one to my ep82. Its a negative pulse to lock and unlock.
  16. Why didn't you mention this earlier? May be interested.
  17. here ya go lew a few pics from rising sun ohh my god!! the weave is awesome!!!!!!!!! keep up the good work.
  18. as you was leaving rising sun it did look a tad smokey but only on over run. i would say valve stem oil seals. like i say cant you just have them replaced? find a garage that will do the old compressed air in the cylinder trick to remove the old stem seals? saves breaking into the headgasket etc. do as the man says :harhar:
  19. hey bud was nice meeting you at rising sun. like i say plenty of info on this forum and alot of willing members to point you in the right direction. car looks sweeeeeeeeet too.
