i need mine doing some time, but for now il just get shedlet mot'd and running lol
-
agreed they have a pretty crap self adjusting mech inside them. ive stripped and re assembled about 6 calipers now and its the same thing every time. all i can say is make sure that the lever on the top of the caliper is returning fully. if it doesnt return fully then it cant adjust properly. dont touch the 10mm nut inside unless you have to. its only there to remove the slack from the cables not adjust them. il get some photos of the ones i have stripped at work when i can to explain how they work better.

ok, three words, ermmmmmm WHAT THE FUCK that is all.

Engine stalling - After fitting Race Spec Rocker Cover etc
Flaminsam replied to Starbuck's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
Just a thought but with the engine running and it stalling after some time, could you have too much crankcase compression? When it cuts out next time, pull the dipstick out and listen for air coming out. -
Thanks for the comments guys. Yea its coming on now! The way I see it on the intercooler piping I have less bends than the j performance piping. Plus the piping u got with the intercooler didn't mount up amazingly well with it coming off a ep91. The reason I have used copper for the water pipes is because it can cope with heat better. But each to their own I suppose. Either way I'll fix problems as I go along.

ah yea sorry lew, these came up cheap as chips and they had corners and a grille too. kinda couldnt resist. any who after much thought i decided to give the engine a compression test. i figured that since the engine has been sat for about 6 months that the bores would be dry and no oil would be around the engine so first things first. firstly i asked my glamorous assistant (funny onion) to remove the spark plugs, fit the oil filter and fill the engine with oil. then i turned the engine over for a while till the oil warning light went out. then charl administered the compression tester of doom. turns out the engine is in good health! with a pressure difference of around 1/2 bar across all four cylinders! highest pressure around 12 bar and lowest pressure around 11.5 bar. some fuel and stuff in her soon then i should have a running engine! watch this space!

are you having the crank ground? would be a good idea to get it at least polished and balanced while its out. yea the machinist should measure the crank journals and let you know what size you will need.

hey guys and girls, well i have a big update for you that covers wings, intercooler, wheels and some more. well first things first, wings. i collected some 205 black wings from norwich from jhandy when he went to pick up his new gt. i was daft and forgot to pick up the small box that had the inlet temp sensor in it. hopefully that will be with me in a few days as i have paid for postage for it. any who heres a pic of the shedlet with some lovely wings on her. you can also see the intercooler behind the bumper but i will get to that in a minute. also i collected a set of lights amber corners and a grille from pick1. cheers dude! then i decided i really needed some new boolers for the shedlet. luckily for me these came up at a bargain price! team dynamics pro race 1.2's. here they are fitted to the shedlet. well after a good weekend at race tech i managed to scrimp and scrape to buy this intercooler off socks. originally came off kidV's car and now being put to good use on the shedlet. i had to make up some of my own brackets to mount the intercooler but this wasnt too hard. also i didnt like the route of the intercooler piping after the intercooler to the throttle body so i used some of my old gtir piping to create this................. what do people think? also i decided to put a kill switch in for the battery in the boot. just seemed like a safe thing to do also its a anti theft device now all that is left is front discs, radiator piping, inlet temp sensor, rear calipers to fit, front wheel bearing, oil feed from race tech and the daft balance bar that goes onto the handbrake cables underneath. hopefully next month will have all of these parts covered.

rule of thumb ross, white smoke = water/moisture black smoke = over fuelling blue smoke = oil.

jake has the mani temp sensor been sent yet? still not recieved.

hastings rings are good quality. use them. and for 65 sheets you cant go wrong
-
`yea that comes for age. basically the rings are a kind of spring steel. they are putting constant pressure on the wall of the cylinder causing the wear. usually if its only at the top you can use a tool called a ridge reamer. that should square the bore back up. a rebore is probably the only way forward with this if you want it to last. why not use this excuse to get the 5e built up and just slap that in
-
i wanna put the shedlet on! count me in!
-
sweet car dude. one of my friends was thinking of putting a rb30 in his speed boat lol.
-
ok guys and girls i have some here. sorry if i didnt manage to get pics of all of the cars there. this place defo needs a big race-tech sign above the door. john and adzzz will like this one.............. and john may like this one even more................ he he he sorry socks i just had to put this one up ;)
-
2 mins peoples. il have to get my camera sorted.
-
free bump. alex payment has been sent for the parts requested but ive had no reply? check your inbox buddy
-
i also have a video of your car dude. il see about putting a link up to it when ive done some editing.
-
good man matt!
-
whoooooooooop! that is all. ;)
-
personally head off taggy. it makes life easier when re gapping the rings and honing the bore. ive heard of people doing them from underneath on other engines but its not really worth it. do it once and do it right

lol they are on air bags as standard dude ;) -
this is a strange one. its asif the engine either doesnt have enough flow to spool up the turbo or the gasses are bypassing the turbo completely but i dont see how that can be?
