Will a Drive shaft with no abs fit a abs model
daniel_g replied to Jarrod's topic in Chassis & Suspension
If it has the same amount of splines it should fit. Your ABS wont work though, its shit anyway, and the dash light will come on. -

It does look like a bit of a mash-up haha. Still well cool but. Glow panel looks surprisingly good with the late spec lights too. -
by the way, worthwhile putting a new TB to inlet gasket in if this doesn't fix it. If its leaking it will increase the idle, and it'll be hunting. They are like 4 quid.

Murda murda murda, kill kill kill.

Either way. The looms in mine were in bad shape in a few crucial areas and i got a bargain on new looms, so for peace of mind i just replaced the whole lot. You'll be fine dude, its just joining colours, bit a soldering and checking continuity when your done. I'm just lazy haha. Enjoy lol.
-
Holy fuck man !! That turbo kit looks outstanding. Also this is the best colour starlet on the forum hands down.
-
Get a new loom off someone breaking a Glanza. Thats what i did with my GT, couldn't be fucked with that like.

Where to get a gearbox rebuilt kit
daniel_g replied to nick260890's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
Well dont try and do it in a tea break lol. Have you seen taggys guide ? http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/59358-a-guide-to-fit-an-aftermarket-quaife-lsd/ I went in from the other end though, removing 5th gear cover etc. Force of habit really. -

Aslong as they give you the right bits back, and not some old random shit from a fiesta box lol. They might have not replaced everything they said. Well i dont really like stripping down and rebuilding gearboxs at all. These boxes aren't particularly hard, theres alot worse, i just wasn't being careful when removing 5th gear assembly. After that i couldn't really be fucked with it, so its sat in a cupboard in work lol. I'll use it for spares, i bought a new box instead. -

Lew yours probably needed a new 5th gear assembly because they broke 5th stripping the box. I done the same with mine, tried to rush during my tea break and didnt use the correct puller so chipped the teeth off 5th. -
Varis has been raped imo. Athought livesports is slowly catching up. If i had a Glanza i'd put a ZEP type 2 on it, they look mint and nobody's got one that i know off. Other options are HRF (fugly), TOMs are JAM type 2, will all be a mission to find. Or a cruise one on RHD. Or any of the livesports lips look awesome too. You Glanza lads are lucky with the amount of choice you have haha.

Check out the 'airboy' bleeders, i've got one at work. It work slightly different to that ^ one, one line goes to the bleed nipple on the caliper and you connect an airline to the connector on the bottle, it sucks the fluid/air out by vacuum. Works well with fuel lines too. Great bit of kit, quite expensive but.
