I've seen R regs in 96 and 98 spec. There are a lot of differences though so theres a fair bit to change to turn it into facelift spec.

Blitz one is probably the best ct9 decat so your sorted there. Decent ct9 manifolds, wepr, race-tech, zisco etc. All can be bought through the forum, traders section. Wepr are on tgtt but.

The getrag boxes on the JZA80 turbo supras can apparently take similar abuse. German box in a jap car works well. Wish they made C52/6 boxes haha.

I do it all the time on customers cars at work haha. Mostly to clear off oil to find oil leaks. Newer cars bays seem more protected though with plastic covers everywhere. Just leave it running and dont point at anything like ht leads lol.

If you look through the really old for sale threads on TGTT you'll see awesome specd starlets up for like 8 grand and people actually buying them. I bet 95% of members on here wouldn't dream of spending that on a starlet. There was a Glanza up for sale last year on here, pretty big spec gt35 etc. And nobody bought it so it got broken, fair enough. Simon on here sold his in parts, 100% correct decision, could you put a price on that ? Then wait around for nobody to buy it. Its a buyers market right now but in 5 or so years Glanzas and GTs will be rarer than ever. If you want a cheap one have a look on donedeal, they are mostly less than 1500.
