thats great that it passed the sniffer test if the coil dont solve it then the only thing i can think of is that you have a sparkplug seal leak and oil dripping in there cousin a misfire ???????
-
sure i run 0.8mm gap at a bar !!!! the bigger the gap the more chance of spark blow out resulting in a mis !!! let me know how u get on wit a smaller gap
-

5e colin replied to mikey4410's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
its really hard to tell mike new 1 will last a bit longer its not really the bhp but the torque that makes them slip i had a oem clutch slip at 0.8bar on td04 dunno what bhp figures it was, was on a p&p en afr was good on my wideband so had no need for roler session back then -

richard the way i see it is on the golfs you can set spring tension so you can keep the full shock travel or desired hardnes and on the polo you cant you just have to screw the spring al the way down and count on the springs without pre tension ?????? i might be wrong tho im new to coil setup -

ha ha no bother mate thanks for the compliment yes thats why i did it i could not afford genuine coils for starlet ( new ) so i started doing research i went to all kinds of brands nissan opel etc etc until i found the german dub forum where there where some measurements of golf so i was a bit lucky to find them then after i got referred to a thread on here where they attempted it with polo atleast now its out in the open it also seems when u order them for golf then the bottom bits bolt off and on polo 1s they are welded to the coils !!! -
thats a very nice car mate and a very cool project

ha ha moderator thats a funny 1 our starlets are THE worst handling cars in the world ( there is no spring load u have to do this urselves !!!! ) the mk1 golf is identical on weight then the starlet but lighter upfront so the mk2 coils suit it right you can also adjust spring tension !!!!!!! and no its not for looks i am already flying faster its not because there cheap that they are shit there just fine for flying up the road -

yes jim we are very lucky that our mounts just bolt on the fronts just bolt on no mod needed but on the rear we need to cut a bit off the coils spacer ontop you could leave it out altogether but thats to low for me -
here is what i made ( was my first budget fse ) was really silent of boost but screemer on dont mind the dodgy welds i blame the stick welder ha ha
