Dale SR
Well she made it all the way to scotland! 400 miles and no problems, just what i expected out of a 20 thousand mile SR!! Me and my brother bought her without even viewing her. A risk that payed off . To say I am happy with her would be the biggest understatement in the world! She is absoutly amazing, She is a truley remarkable car and I don't think I could of possibly got a better one. Absoultly no rust the arches and sills are as new! Me being the biggest SR fan I have been looking to get my hands on a low miliage one for ages which had to be below 30k so this one is perfect. She is completely standard I actually have the original sales receipt for £9500!, Full service history, TTE back box, TTE spoiler, TTE springs. SR speakers and 5 Speedlines. She has recently had new decals fitted which I'm pleased with I feel so lucky to own her I can't stop smiling Both front and back bumpers are very badly scratched so I have replaced the back one with a nice immaculate one that I stole from my other silver SR untill I get both front and rear bumpers resprayed. There's a scuff on the offside wing that will need sorted. I machine polished a few other minor scratches today and now there gone I desperately need a pair of numberplates which are next on the list. I did plan on changing the interior but I actually love it! It's just so clean and like brand new and from having the Glanza interiors in my other two SRs I actually find it quite nice. So granny spec interior will be staying There's only two things that I'm disappointed about, The original front Matt's are gone just the rears are there. And the old couple lost the CD player face. so not alot to complain about but it's still annoying! A few photos Most of my plans won't be very exciting mostly just maintaining her and keeping her in my shed lol. I really want a TTE front splitter but I don't want to be putting a replica one on her so I need to start saving. Edited August 13, 2020 by Dale SR

Pikey009
I still have a full set of original matts but use them all the time and only use my optional Glanza matts on nice days. Pleased you're keeping the interior and everything just as it is I know I've changed mine by yours is different and deserves to be 100% original as I'm sure you're planning on

I was planning before I seen her in person to put the 98 spec Glanza interier in but I just can't anymore she has to stay 100% SR
Starlet__SR
If the guy had posted pics like this to show how clean it was i'd have snapped it up in a heartbeat. You got a cracker there matey, fair play to you!
mart1
That's lovely mate, the best:-)
Pikey009
The bits that are wrong are an easy fix - obv the starlet sticker on the boot lid is missing and the SR decal not entirely straight too but morgeys mate does great reps. Yeh good decision to keep it all original, this is much better than that 11k white one. Think you're right about the matts mate and they're much harder wearing than my 'fancy set' lol actually don't like having them in the car really. Pikey009
And as soon as I realised the fogs were options I decided to keep them lol. Still eyeing up that tte lip but it's just so dam expensive and easily damaged or stolen

Ye just a few little jobs and she will be looking perfect. She is deffinetly more original thank the 11k one, I have the retro fuffy Matt sets but they don't look right in the SR And as soon as I realised the fogs were options I decided to keep them lol. Pikey009
Yeh was going to say, you'd easily be able to tell and as that was one of the main selling points everything would need to check out. Which ones are the Duffy matts? To be honest before my car I'd never seen the fogs on another SR and only seen one since as I've been looking- they seem pretty rare along with the sun roof, splitter and air con. mart1
The original interior suits it more with it being a silver sr:-)
Dale SR
The original interior suits it more with it being a silver sr:-) It deffinetly doesn't stand out as much. The seats give you a sore back but I won't be doing any long journeys, not that my back feels any better after a long journey in the Glanza seats.
Turbo Goose
Looks really nice mate. I had a black SR fews years ago as my first starlet with all the goodies on it in original condition.Sold it to a lad a few miles from me and apparently hes still got it but has crashed it and now put a purple 96 spec kit on it???? RUINEDBloody loved that car!
Pikey009
There will be non left soon as most people can't seem to leave the SR look alone. I quite like the grey matts in mine The cars in general aren't the comfiest lol but that's not what they're about really is it Edited April 3, 2016 by Pikey009
Pikey009
Agreed Dale, as it was the main selling point of the car I'm sure you looked into it and you can tell with prev MOT's as mentioned already. Plus you can just tell with the condition of a car- mine has 63k on it and I'm proper anal with cleaning it but it's still not as fresh as yours inside mate. You can cheat mileage every year on newer cars by having them re programmed but you'll only really save a couple of 1000 miles and at £75 a go it's not cheap. I put Clio 200 clocks in my 197 and the guy wanted the last MOT cert or he wouldn't put the mileage on the new clocks.

Ye i did all the research I could before hand, it's a completely genuine 20k SR, it's like New inside and near immaculate on the bodywork, inside the engine and underneath is completely differt to my 100k SR's unused ashtray and cig lighter, I have never seen such new looking steering wheel and seats in a starlet. I'm not atall worried by colins post as I know what I have Ye i don't think it's overally common om the likes of a SR starlet, there's not even much of a price difference between high or low mileage clean examples, a black one with 130k sold a couple of months ago for £1250. So it's not exactly the right market to be docking SR miliages haha Edited April 3, 2016 by Dale SR
Pikey009
Ive got to say that for a 120k car that black one was amazing and I'd have had that if I was in the market for one. I think you got yours for a bargain as its a 2k plus car all day long mate
