slo7899
Hi all. The throw on my Glanza is pretty long. I'm wanting to shorten it. I would like to get my hands on a TRD short shifter but seems these are very hard to get hold of. I was browsing the web to find the hyper sport short shifter and was wondering if anyone's got one. They claim to reduce throw to 50%. http://hyper-sport.co.uk/store/manufacturer/toyota/starlet-1996-1999/starlet-glanza-transmission/toyota-short-shifter-hs0001Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

T-dog
They are not bad , I've got two on both my starlets . Not as good as a shortshifter but gives a nice short throw
slo7899
Awesome, that's all am really after is for the throw to be shorter. Had a few short shifters on different cars and they've all been pretty good tbh. Cheers.

Phil
Any downside to these?Phil
T-dog
The only downside is where it lifts the cable higher to shorten the throw on the linkage arm , it does put a slight bit of strain on the cable due to it being like diagonal were it is ment to be straight . But not had a problem with it
slo7899
Fitted mine yesterday and night and day improvement over standard also very easy to install. Would highly recommend one.
dan106
Not sure if this is because of the short shifter but i reckon it is, definitely does put strain on the cable. When this happened I was literally just put the car in reverse Edited January 29, 2017 by dan106
morgey
What about bending the bracket to easy the angle on the cable
dan106
I might give that a go when I stick new cables in, the gear change has always been a bit shit on mind so it might've happened either way
morgey
Gotta be worth a go, also the sugar cube on the selector can make the shift a bit notchy at time. Might be worth having a look at that see if its worn
Sam96V
Anyone got a guide on hop to fit it on a glanza? Easy?
morgey
Literally takes 5mins aslong as your cable hasnt seized to your box. Pop the cable off the selector slide this on and then pop the cable over this. Its a good 40% reduction in travel and makes it feel a lot more solid shift.
