HedgeyGedgey
So in a bizarre turn of events I'm now as of a few hours ago, the proud new owner of one very poorly but special JAM glanza. It was originally up for breaking on the book of faces. I enquired about the front splitter, got told it had provisionally been sold. In my typical style, I threw a tantrum and asked to buy the whole car as a whole lol. So I apologise if I've stopped you getting any parts haha Why is she poorly? Some valves have hit the pistons Plan is to whip the head off as soon as shes back home. Looking at new pistons, recon head with new valves, athena headgasket etc. Then wire in the Emanage Ultimate and go from there. WEPR td04 hybrid kit on it, so hoping for maybe 330bhp? But its worlds ahead of my ct9 glanza. I'll work out what it actually has on it once its back home, bit of an impulse buy to say the least but I'm happy with it
jellybaby
Least ya saved it
SpoonalTap
I seen this was up for breaking on facebook, glad someone bought it and isn't planning on just stripping it down for parts. Makes a change, good luck. Hopefully doesn't take too long to get back on the road.

Aim is to have it built up, run in. And off to mapping mid summer. I just gotta decide what I wanna do with my now old glanza lol
Farley V
How has the gold wrap been applied under the bonnet? Just lots of cut out bits to fill the gapes or has it been fully covered / separated somehow? Good luck with the forthcoming jobs.

I've literally no idea mate, its due to be delivered by the recovery truck in a few hours. I'm a tad nervous lol
HedgeyGedgey
It got delivered just as the sun set, but managed to sneak a quick pic in before the OG Glanza went off to the unit for storage. Gonna whip the head off tomorrow and see what's happened. Overall, looks very very clean. Well happy with it atm, not bad for sight unseen off Facebook lol

HedgeyGedgey
Car got delivered earlier this week and got stuck right in. Head whipped off to inspect damage and........ Theres zero damage. None at all. But it became apparent as soon as the spark plugs were out what was the issue. The bores absolutely stink of fuel, even the oil in the head and sump stinks of it. So I can assume it's been flooded with fuel. As I budgeted for a new engine, thought I'd make this spec even better. We'd all drive boring cars if we like having money in the bank lol. So... Uprated valve springs from Tuning Developments. More for piece of mind but also ability for a 8k+ rev limit. And now it was a tough choice, had ~£1000 to spend. Nice coilovers, K sport 8 pots or an ECU. I've chosen the ECU, ordered an ME221 I've got a fancy AEM failsafe wideband that will work well with it. I've no idea when that will arrive atm but we shall see how that goes. The software looks easy and have a base map already. Quick pic with its sisters. No idea on the plans for the OG glanza I had just yet Cheers, Jack
RobSR
Check the base map on the ME221 as last time I checked it was wrong, also be prepared that you may have to take a tooth off the trigger wheel in the dizzy too.

HedgeyGedgey
As is the way with these cars, cant postpone it anymore and decided to take skirts off and inspect for the dreaded tin worm. I got sent a video of it briefly before I bought, but needed to see for myself. What a lovely surprise it is not to have a rusty jap car lol I'm more than happy with this, but does beg the question if it's now too clean an example to rag the shit out of on track
akyakapotter
Never get it on track and use the thing.

I still have my other glanza, have no need to sell that so maybe that one can scratch the itch. I'll have to think about it. These first world problems haha
HedgeyGedgey
Not much been happening with the car lately, just waiting on parts mainly. But my ME211 has finally arrived Wasted no time in getting that in the original case be interested to know what others have done to get to the flashing plug on the ECU. Thinking about getting an extension cable, drilling a hole in the case and having it permanently plugged in and lopped up in the glove box Fingers crossed the next update will be the big one, the first start up. Not actually heard this thing run ever, so we'll see if this is the good blind Facebook purchase or a nugget. Fingers crossed Cheers, Jack
HedgeyGedgey
Well, surprise surprise it runs. Idles like an absolute dream and seems reasonably happy. Next job is move her off the front grass and start pre-mot checks
Socks
What a lovely Glanza! Like the way your going with it! Keep us posted dude!

Many updates when it's going on the road, Electronic throttle, sequential ignition and so on. All going forward, just hope the poor TD04 can take the abuse lol
HedgeyGedgey
MOT checks and niggles sorted out, new bulbs throughout. Nightbreaker Lasers for the headlights, sidelights, and fogs. Interior put back together after wideband install and ME221 going in, wont be staying that way too long as I have a Bride Brix done in suede. But I've done what I did with the glanza last year, booked a show and the car is nowhere near ready lol. Reg plates on (need a private plate asap as I hate the NI regs) next update will be MOT on the 5th. Hopefully be putting a few miles on it road mapping, service, all ready for the show on the 6th. Big task but should be doable
HedgeyGedgey
With a bit of a rush, MOT time Saturday. She passed with a few things needing to be adjusted. Rear wheel bearings and front ARB droplinks. Shes got a years ticket with no drama at all other than the "donor" car failing emissions hahaha Then it was a mad rush to get things sorted for a small local show just to put some miles on her. Painted the green wheel 040 white, nut and bolt check, rear seats in, wiper arms painted and power steering pump painted It does have a strange noise though. As it's starting to make boost, it makes a jingle. Almost like a vband or something rattling, and cannot find it or recreate it standing still
HedgeyGedgey
Car has had a few miles on it recently, about 50miles each way down to Shotley for a Japanese coffee meet. Largely off boost but still logging the car, then on the way back ended up playing with a Hawkeye STI 😂 so a rush 0.7bar map whilst blasting down the country lanes pushing the STI was done. The poor girl did okay, the 1.5way diff is vastly superior to the OEM one I dont care what people say. Seems to want to actually put the power down and not just leave 11s everwhere. Still feels super laggy, Sacha from WEPR said the turbo really wont wake up till its over 1bar so will have to wait for the full 1.5bar power runs to see the lag. And then the sad part, dug out my old trusty 98 glanza and sold her. My first car and had a a lot of time and money spent saving this one as it was a very worn and abused example. Shes staying the family and in the same unit but different owner
