Right then, spent a few hours on the engine this afternoon, got it stripped down and removed the piston and conrod furthest from the oil pump just to check the shells. Shows a slight bit of wear but nothing major, but the engine is in a manky state inside and out!!

So the plan for next weekend is get the rest of the pistons out and get the correct shells ordered up, and thoroughly steam clean/degrease the block and head ready for paint, should look pretty good with the theme :D same goes for the head get all the valves out, decoked and the head steamed cleaned, order new valve stem seals, may aswell change them going to this extent.

The bores look fine aswell but again they will end up being honed seeing as the engine is completely stripped.

The sister took a few pics earlier but I will post up some before after ones when more work is done :D

Over and out

make sure you or your dad go with, because they had my bro a right peach the gits, and they put a cat on for me which still managed to fail my mot

with my bro, he thought that his decat had to be cut out when it was a bolt in 1, and they charged almost £100 to swap them, it wasnt until we did his coilys, we saw that it was just a straight swap, no cutting or welding required the cheeky b*stards

Bit more progress today, got the bottom end completely stripped and crank out so we could check the numbers on the shell bearings.

Need a bit of help identifying some of them so CLICK HERE please.

All the pistons are rod assemblies were cleaned up and look pretty much brand new they are in the oven now drying before getting soaked in WD40 to prevent them from rusting.

Tomorrow the car is coming out the garage and going down my Dads

But Im not sure how much we will do tomorrow to the car as the block will be going in a parts washer to be cleaned right back to metal and the head will be stripped to so will see how much time we got to start stripping the car.

Will get some pics tomorrow, promise :D

Before anyone says yes I am a let down, no pics again lol

Anyway the car is out of the garage :D felt mint being behind the wheel even though I was being towed :)

Scary as hell though, no wipers and was pissing it down and just on a tow rope :) lol

Shes up on axle stands now and the wheels are going on the sisters car for a bit B) need to get the one repaired first.

Bad news on the parts washer its broke so spent most the day just scrubbing up parts and getting the gasket sealer off the sump, the parts have come up mint now and most of the other stuff are left to soak so should be mint by next week.

Didnt have anything big enough to soak the block in so that will be next weekend, gonna order the rest of the bits up in the week ready for the rebuild, should be done in 2 weeks time HOPEFULLY.

The best thing of the day was removing the Sparco harnesses and putting the Takata in place, looks fucking mint, love it B)

Pics next weekend guys :) *not garunteed* :)
