cazzac2222
Well ive finally started my own thread instead of keeping the updates on Rich's thread, like people have said i think ive made enough changes to the car to make it officially mine lol so im going to take out all the updates on the other thread and put them in here so i can keep all my updates together from when i first bought the car Thanks alot, ZacFeb 25 2010, 03:44 PMWell as you all may know Scutch0 (Rich) has sold his Glanza at the start of the year, and i was the very lucky guy to buy it from him. Rich is a very sound lad and was pleasure doing this deal with him. I have decided to carry on updating this thread so Rich can see that his little V is in good hand. For a very long time looking on UKSC and TGTT i was always wanted a mint and well looked after V, so i found Rich's V and really that was what i had been looking for, and well, im soo happy with the V i had bought and the condition that it is in is great with minor repairs to the front and shell it will be immaculate, These were the pics on the advertisment:So on Friday the 8th of January (i think it was) my dad and his mate set off down south to collect my Glanza, i really wanted to go down but was unable to get the day off work, so i just had to wait till the 5 O'clock to come around so i could see my new car. While my dad was down there he phoned me and told me how nice and how good the condition of the car was and he sent me a few pictures while i was sat at my desk wishing i could of been down there collecting her with my dad, these was the pictures i recieved: Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full imageSo when i had recieved the pictures i was even more excited to get home and see the car in the flesh, When i got home and saw the car on the drive it was exactly what i was looking for and was very very pleased with the car, it has soo much potential and i knew this could turn out to be just how i want it.The next morning i had to get out on the drive and just give her a good clean as the long motorway drive back had made the car more of a grey colour rather than the white lol. So to start with i stripped out the interior completely to give it a really good clean inside the car, not saying it wasnt clean rich just thought id clean her out as i wasnt insured and wanted to have a play lol Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 576 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1022 x 574 ] - Click to view full imageSo after the inside of the car was immaculate (Don't have no pics sorry) i started on the outside of the car, gave her 3 washes and a good chamois, wanted to give her a good polish and wax but i ended up loosing light and time . As i wanted this car so bad i had to borrow the money off my mum and dad and then pay them back when i had sold my corsa, so i also decided to give the corsa a wash and here are a few pictures of both my cars together: Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 576 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 576 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 576 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 576 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 576 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 576 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 576 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 576 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 576 ] - Click to view full imageWell after the big clean i didn't touch the V for a while as i was getting used to the drive of the car and the soo much more power over the little 1.4 corsa lol.A few weeks later a mate of mine was de wipering his Mk2 Punto on the back and has no use for the wiper and wiper arm, so after seeing Bildo (i think thats his username) had done it to his and i thought it looked really cool and more modern, i decieded to fit the mk2 punto arm and wiper to the glanza, it looks soo much better and neat compared to the large metal one. (sorry no pics of this small mod)Then another friend with a V was selling his Blitz Supersound B.O.V with all silicone pipes for a bargain price, i didn't really want to buy a B.O.V with such little mods to the car, but for the price it was at, i couldnt say no really (again sorry no pics as of yet)So after doing a bit of driving around to get used to her and the drive of the car, she once again got filthy so again i gave her another good clean and took a few pictures aswell, You can make out the punto rear wiper, and i also added what i think is a cool sticker to the back window. Once the sparcos are on with the new tryes, next on the list is going to be a few handling mods, rear ARB, coilies (looking at the Meisters) Anti lift kit, rear strut and C pillar strut. Just going to take it easy and enjoy the modding process and watch my car transform into something special.Feb 27 2010, 01:14 AMThanks for the comments lads, Rich id like to thank you also for keeping her in such a great condition and what she is to this day and ye she will be looked after well by myself.Chris, Ye i was looking for just a little while lol and finally found what i was looking for. So the cars making good progress, not fast progress but some lol, pics of the new wheels and relocation filter will be up tonight Also the originall enkies will be up for sale including the rays annodised blue nuts, i will say £300 for the wheels and rays nuts, this will include the rims getting a fresh powder coat in white with new Enkie decals, at the buyers choice he/she can choose the tyres at an extra cost of £15 per tyre as he/she may want to buy all new tyres, two of the tyres are in really good nick with plenty or tread but two are on there way out and only have a few hundred miles left in them if that. Pictures of the wheels and tyres will also be up tonight Thanks alot, Zac Apr 9 2010, 02:34 PM Cheers mate, you know anyone that would be interested in the Enkeis, before i send them off to powdercoaters i want to see if people are interested.Cheers, Zac Apr 9 2010, 10:40 PMSorry mate been out tonight and havn't had time to post up the pictures lol and i got the original sparco wheel nuts but they are for a mazda mx5 and i think the thread is 12x1.25 not 1.5, im not 100% sure but either way ive gone for the annodised blue lug nuts which goes with the blue centre bits i painted, looks very tidy, ull see tomoz when i get the pics up lol Apr 9 2010, 10:45 PM Amjad, the wheels will be costing arout £100-£110 powdercoating so will be brand new wheels and the new decals will be around a tenner aswell I have lots of plans for the V but just concentrating on saving for coilover at the minute and the money from the Enkeis will go towards these aswell, then it will be mainly looking into handling mods for the time being but i really just want a front mount so i can cut out the front bumper and get that painted up as it needs doing anyway lol im not sure whats next really, maybe coilies but im also in need of brakes :/ god it never stops lmao Apr 11 2010, 02:56 PM Will be LSN Coatings in Castleford mate, theyve done my sparcos and i havnt seen a better job on any previous wheels ive had Well i finally got the wheels on as ive already said and now im finally gettin some pics posted up lol Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full imageReally pleased with how the wheels came out, its asking for coilovers i know but they will be orderd in the futureBefore the wheels came on i also got a relocation filter to the front bumper and i also bought a shorter belt for a/c deletion, so off i went at removing the A/C, with a guid i used of here it all went smoothly and had no problems at all, and i still cant get over how heavy the pump and bracket is just itself. well it all went well and the filter is on, here some pics of the engine bay and the front filter (The engine bay is just calling out to remove the top mount, i know lol) Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full image Reduced: 78% of original size [ 1024 x 768 ] - Click to view full imageSo ye another small progress update but so happy with it at the moment and very happy with the performanceSo as now the sparcos are on the Enkei wheels will be up for sale, heres a few pictures of the wheels and the tyres and how much tread there is left on them, i have also shown the reason why i am getting them refurbed as the paint has become to bubble, crack and flake, they will all be freshly powdercoated in white with new Enkei decals, there is no centre caps as i didnt recieve any with them, anyway heres the pics:I am also going to throw in the Rays locking wheel lug nuts, they are in good condition and some of them are scratched with someone using tight sockets on the nuts, heres some pics of them also:Sooo thats everything for the time being, i would like to see if people are interested in the wheels before i go get them powdercoatedThe progress is going very well at the moment and im soo happy with her at the moment Thanks for looking, Cheers ZacApr 11 2010, 08:39 PM Ye defo coilies next, was a debate for coilies or FMIC but think coilies will make the better difference lolAs for the powdercoaters they don't really repair wheels mate, if there small kerbage he might just grind it off but i think he specialises more into the quality of the powdercoating, i personally think its the best ive seen and im very pleased with my sparco's Apr 14 2010, 11:02 AMThanks mate, ye i need the Enkeis to sell so i can get coilies, the car has tanabe shocks and springs on which can aslo go up for sale but then i wont have anyhting for the car to sit on lol Soooo thats all the post and updates ive put in the other thread but i know have my own. Thanks again lads, Zac
ryan lang
looking good. how did you do them lights, like what temperature setting and for how long did you put them in the oven for? and what did you use to seal them back up? because mine are a bit yellow aswell.thanks
cazzac2222
looking good. how did you do them lights, like what temperature setting and for how long did you put them in the oven for? and what did you use to seal them back up? because mine are a bit yellow aswell.thanksI think it was arounf 150degree for around a minute mate, there is a thick black tar like glue sealing the lights, this will eventually melt and with alot of force they will come apart, i had to put them in the oven prize the lense a little then put it in the oven again, abit more prizing and i had to do this a few times. When they did come apart i used t-cut to clean up the lenses, i did it about 2-3 times and they have come up alot better, the inside reflective foil was also mucky on mine, DO NOT use the t-cut on this, i have done it a little bit and it has peeled and scratched the foil off. maybe just a damp cloth and a micro fibre to dry them off. To seal the lights back together i but the headlight unit back in the oven for a minute or so at the same temp which melted the tar like glue again, there is a trench in the glue from when the lense was taken off and when the glue was then tacky again i squeezed the lense back into its original seating, once it was in i put it back in the oven for another minute to seal the glue onto the lense, then apply the clips again and there you go, lights that look alot better than they was. I think this is the best way to gettin alot better looking front headlights instead of forking out a fortune on new ones. Hope this helps mate Cheers, Zac

cazzac2222
**SMALL UPDATE**Well as i found that the brake discs on the V had small cracks in on the front, i thought it was defo time for all around change and an excuse for an upgrade aswell So after talking to nick at tunning Developments (Top Guy) we agreed on going for the following brakes:EBC Grooved & Dimpled DiscsEBC Yellowstuff Front PadsADL Blueprint Rear DiscsADL Blueprint Rear PadsSo woke up to a huge box on the doorstep this morning with EBC Brakes on the front Really happy with the parts and the service from Nick, so got straight into fitting the front EBC discs and pads as soon as i got home from work. Weather unfortunatley stopped me from fitting the rears so thats the job for tomorrow night Also planning on giving the car a service this weekend so also starting to gather the parts for that this week, hence the K&N Oil Filter in the pictures that also came today. So here the pictures of tonights work:So was quite please with the work tonight and also i have started on flatting down the centre console and painting it the same colour as my centre caps, the metallic blue Just a quick thanks to Nick at Tunning Developments, great guy and a great service, Thanks again mate :angry:Thanks for looking, Zac
