UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The engine is now in!!!! :):)

Everything is now connected as well. BUT we are having a touch of trouble with the front mount. As i am a perfectionist and want it right my dad is custom making some brackets tomorrow morning very early. Im getting up at 10am as im about to go on the drink.

To do

FMIC brackets

Gearbox oil

Hook up battery

Push the starter button

EVERYTHING else is all sorted.

Fingers crossed im gonna make it to the trafford centre meet now.

I'll put some pic up tomorrow as im in a rush.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The engine is completly sorted and running but we have come across a fecking problem. It idles at 2000 revs. It doesn't fluctuate up and down just a solid 2000 revs.

I have Dub Se7en flying up to help now but if anyone else can shed any light on it i would appreciate it loads. As for any other problems i've had only the drive shaft problem and i needed to fly to a motor spares place to get some exhaust bolts. Apart form that no other problems.

Sounds really nice though :) :) ;)

UPDATE!!!!!!

As you may or may not know the engine conversion has now been a complete sucess. I was expecting it to be days over the time i scheduled for it but it was only a couple of hours. I missed the Trafford Centre meet but the sacrifice was worth it.

The problems i had with the swap are as follows

I was stuck on getting the drive shaft couplings out of the diff

It didn't come with exhaust bolts so i had to fly all over Manchester to find them on a Sunday

The engine idled high when running as i put a pipe where it shouln't go (BULB)

The tps needs modifying ever so slightly.

Fecking Rain!!!!

Apart from them there were no other problems. It went a thousand times smoother than i expected, which has made me super chuffed. If anyone wants to do the conversion then i highly recommend this engine from my contact as it was so easy it amazed me.

Im now just gently enjoying the boost until i can fully utilise the engine when it's run in. :) ;) :)

Im also going to get the laguna lip in the near future to cover up the intercooler tubes at the bottom.

Here two teaser pics until i can take some when the sun comes out.

Thanks guys

@ Dean - If you need my help just give me a shout and im sure if i am not busy i can fly down with a couple of my mates who did my conversion as we have obviously done it now so we know what to do. To be honest though i doubt you will need our help. It's extremely easy. All you have to do is take your time and get a few mates to help you with your lifting. Also keep some money aside for anything that may crop up as you don't want to be stuck on axle stands because you didn't have the funds for a new part.

Amazing work mate honestly.... I will be in touch for when it comes to my conversion ( the loom part of it anyway)

Good luck with it mate and hope you enjoy BOOST :p

Would recommend getting an oil catch can, those breather filters are a crap idea ;)

Thats insane mate

Proper lush

How much did the whole conversion set you back?

Also personal opinion i think it looks better with the intercooler pipes buldging out the bottom make it look more agressive ;)

Congrats matey

@ JAG - i've just been looking at it from the front and your right. now im unsure about getting the lip. On the other hand i want it to be a sleeper. Oh the decisions. As for the price i haven't totaled it all up yet but i reckon engine, intercooler and other bits and bobs that i needed, it may be round the £1500 mark. To be honest that is a bargin for the conversion.

@ Phil - Do it.

@ Sparky - Catch tank will be on order in a few weeks probably. just gonna take it easy running it in and letting my bank card have a rest.

Exhaust is sorted for the time being but a friend who builds rally cars may be doing my exhaust for me which im looking forward to.
