Idrees Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 Haha nope shes in the garage. I'm going to start on the other side now, and hopefully I'll have enough time to do the rear disc conversion and fit a new brake master cylinder too! Quote
SiCaln Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Good work dude, i lost those back plates and found i needed to add a few lickle washers to the carriers to space em slightlywhat master cylinder u gna use?! Quote
Idrees Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 Yeah I had to do the same, looks fine now though and the disc spins nicely!I have a OEM cylinder, I have a little feeling the stock one is a bit tired. Quote
Liam_D Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Damn!!! they look good dude, i need a brake set-up like that soon. Stock brakes FTL Quote
Sparky Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 looks wicked mate and discs on backwards FTW What size are the discs? Quote
Idrees Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 Thanks guys. They have been machined down to 260mm Quote
Idrees Posted April 9, 2009 Author Posted April 9, 2009 The front brakes are now all done, will know for sure once I can drive the car.I made a start with the rears today.Glanza axle looking a bit rusty..So I got it down to bare metal and gave it some anti-corrosive primer. After this was meant to be matt black, but I kinda painted it a different colour instead Did the sides matt black and it looked like this.Fitted to the car and wahey, we have rear discs.Braided lines being held back with almight cable ties to stop them catching the wheel.Next is to get the hand brake cables on which is such a pain with the exhaust and heatshield in the way. I think I'll go to a garage for that. But before I can drive it I need to get the new Master Cylinder on, can't even get the old mofo one out of the engine bay! Quote
Dean @RW-Developments Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 nice progress, im considering the rear disc conversion is it just a case of put the glanza rear axle on and just link the brake lines up or do you hae to start modifying things to fit? is it just plug an play lol? Quote
SiCaln Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 plug and play mate, except you need to change the handbrake cables as Idrees said, u can just change the hubs and use your existing axle if you like Quote
Idrees Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 As above you'll probably need new brake pipes as well, I just used the braided ones so it wasn't a problem for me! Quote
SiCaln Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 ah yes sorry forgot to mention that, they def fit under 15s too because the levin came on 15s running the full (non-milled down) 285mm disc Quote
Idrees Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 Sparco's are here but I can't afford tyres for them at the minute. Anybody wanna buy any of the FTE parts off me?! Anyhow, they are the ones with the deeper dish so I'm happy! I cba with a refurb yet but I will do them eventually. Quote
Galliano Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Nice one Iddy Not feeling that rear axle though. Quote
